UNC- ASH

At this late date I still can't decide between Amir and Dom and wonder if Felix offers more long term than either. I also think Marco offers more if he can cut it defensively. If we're going to outscore anyone (essential with our "D" ) we need a bomber beside DLo. They can't double them both. Haven't got a clue about the interior defense and rebounding but we need points to have a chance. Get a lead and then bring in Dom and Amir.

Why bring them in after we establish a lead? Honestly if you throw their reputations aside; I've seen nothing from Dom or Amir on the actual court this season that shows they are above average defenders.
I hate to say it but neither of them have been the shut down defenders we treat them as.

Maybe Felix can be though, I'd like to see more of him.

Better rebounding will lead to more scoring. That (rebounding) seems to be our biggest need and deficiency.

Our coach disagrees. That is why he chose to bench Gift, the leading returning rebounder. Every time I see Obekpa on the bench I come to the harsh reality that our tallest player is a small forward, Sampson, who prefers to jump, run and dunk. That will not cut it in Big East play.

One thing nobody disputes is Hooper is a great 3 point shooter. Hopefully DLO stays another year and he could be the bomber along DLO.

Minutes affect rhythm.
No one can possibly expect consistent play from players who are constantly being subbed in and out of the lineup.

If you're giving them extended minutes and they are still struggling, then that is a different story (Greene).

I thought Amir played well as a starter in the beginning of the season until Lavin was running him 30+ minutes in the Detrit game and Charleston tourney. He wore out and then was plucked from the lineup in favor of Balamou.

I also thought that Christian Jones played well as a starter. He's the only player on the roster with any semblance of a post game.

But hey, I've learned from being here that we should never question Lavin.

I think thats where you are wrong. Im happy Lavin is here. That said, Lavin, like everybody makes mistakes. I feel it is OK to question these mistakes IE not recruiting more balanced classes, redshirting Gift, etc.

Harrison,Obekpa, and sampson are the only players who can make a significant impact at the elite division I level. The rest are just OK players. If you think Sanchez will solve our problems you are crazy. He is an OK player in the big east nothing special. Now if the current players stick together and Lavin can bring in 3 more elite players when Harrison is a senior we can make a run in the tourney. This year we have no shot at making the ncaa tournament.

They still have to play the games so they can still make it. Highly unlikely but, still the season is far from over. And you are wrong about Sánchez. He is a Big man with speed, passing ability, could be the third scoring opinion, and he can crash the glass. That fact that you think he wouldn't help makes you the crazy one good sir.

Do you remember how important Brownlee was to Lavins offense? We need a paint presence who can face the basket and break down a defense. Jakarr is great at hitting the jumpers but he doesnt set up anyone else.

How can you be so sure that Sanchez is just an OK player?
