Uconn to ACC: RUMOR

If FSU leaves UCONn will jump all over that if offered.
Uconn will leave if offered any P5. I don’t think they get an invite unless more than just FSU leave. Gotta be Clemson, FSU, UM and UNC or something like that.

This is going to sound crazy, but the next round of ACC realignment is still a couple years away. ACC first call will always be ND, but I would be surprised if by 2025 JMU is a more attractive option financially than UConn.

For clarity: I believe the calls would be:
1. ND
2. Memphis
3. South Florida
4. JMU
5. UConn

But I think they will try a pac-12 alliance before it comes to that

To add to this, some guy is claiming Nova is talking with the ACC and Big 12. Personally I don't think he knows anything, but regardless St. John's really needs to get this next coaching hire right. Lots of smoke in conference realignment.

To me, it seems like FSU is dipping its toe in the water of demanding the exit fee be reduced significantly/waived. Someone had to be first, and the calls will grow louder when other teams join them.

True, but look at the Big 12 with the exit of UT and OU, the remaining teams banded together and made them pay out the nose.

First thing that will have to happen for any more is for the Big 10 or SEC to find a team that would interest their per team payout in their media deal.

Big 10 did the math and brand names like Washington and Oregon didn’t move the needle. Not sure if FSU, UM, or Clemson would would cross that barrier for the SEC. Eventually there will be more movement, but not until the conference just rebrand as the ESPN, FoxSports, CBS, and AmazonStreaming conference.

Let them leave and pay the exit fee. They have a good sports program but will 100% get swallowed up by the ACC. The Acc is a black hole where they are only concerned with the tobacco road teams as was previously stated in this thread. Teams that have made the jump from Big East to ACC had early success but really have not crushed the conference in any way. I don't see any long term benefits of the teams that jumped ship. They are all middle of the road. Pitt is leading the conference this season but that will happen once in a while.

I don't see any B-Ball only teams bolting. The Big East (New) was formed so CFB programs can do their own thing and CBB have their own thing.

UConn fits the boot but nobody else. Speaking of which does Memphis have a CFB program? They'd fit nicely in the BE

A better one then UCONN.
