UCLA expose being reported tomorrow

I hope UCLA gets its together. Just like with St John's, I think its good for college basketball when they are good. I think KA would stay there anyways.

Looks like this could get ugly. Not going to help them on the recruiting trail, that's for sure. Btw.. Seton Hall has no more ships for Kyle Anderson...oops! ;-)

They would "find" one, if Anderson became available.

It would become very difficult for Willard to find one that late in the game, leaving one of those kids on the doorstep and saving face doing so.

Freshman Sean Grennan, a backup PG who's collecting cobwebs on the bench and who's a mid-major level player at best, would be gone in the blink of an eye. And Willard would be crazy not to do it. Either way, KA's not coming here. Besides we have our PG in Branch, and as we all know what we need more than anything is size and a strong inside presence.

KA could play any position here. I'm not sold that the Hall would be his place of choice should a scenario unfold, and you can be Lavin would be on the horn right away.

While I think KA doesn't end up here (I don't think he renegs on UCLA either way), if he did somehow end up here, what poetic justice that would be. Lavin landing UCLA's top recruit amidst a UCLA scandal, after Lavin's Fresh Five beat the Bruins who were ranked in the preseason. I hate UCLA, and I would not be too upset if KA came. He would be our answer for depth, shooting, size, and a lot of other intangibles. Him with Moe and 3LO would be scary.

MT @MikeMillerNBC: Story paints UCLA's Howland as cruel coach who coddled stars, ignored issues to detriment of prog.http://ow.ly/9m7Mk

Apparently it shows an uncaring coach who has let his team run amok and handled much of the issues with player rather poorly with regard to partying, drugs etc. The funny part though, is the bruins fans on bruinzone seem jovial and relieved. They think it's a puff piece as long as there are no violations and are ready to have a parade for Howland. Most of those fans paint it as all being about punk players and not the coaches issue from what I gather.

Always nice to read about scandals and scathing articles at other schools.

I'd like one on kansas now also and maybe toss in a providence incident as well

Add Kentucky, Duke and uconn to that list of wants!

Uconn just blew a 13 point lead and lost to providence and just killed their ncaa chances. That's a scandal right there.

Maybe we will meet up with them at MSG in the NIT. ^5

“I knew it was coming out and we were aware of it,” Kyle Anderson, Sr., said of the article. “(UCLA) told us the article is coming out. They said they didn’t know what it was but it was coming out. They didn’t elaborate and to be honest, I wasn’t interested. Both Kyle and myself know what we’re looking for and what we wanted and didn’t want. The article doesn’t sway our opinion at all. We still feel as strong about UCLA as we did on Sept. 19.”

Hopefully UCLA reads that and thinks it's safe to fire Howland without losing Kyle ... and then Kyle asks out of his LOI when they do.

IMO, it is a puff piece. SI trading on the UCLA name to sell some magazines.

Sure says "I" a lot in there.
Good to know UCLA was what Kyle SR was looking for.

ESPN's Doug Gotleib said that he thinks Ben Howland is OK for one more season at UCLA but he better win next year.

Also said Kyle Anderson could be a Jalen Rose like player for the Bruins.

Actually uses "I" twice and "we, we're, us, our" 7 times. Since when is it a bad thing for a parent to be intimately involved in where their child goes to school? I wish KA went to SJU also but he didn't; it's time for many of you to move on.

How intimately involved were your parents in making your college decision? Sounds like he doesn't let his kid think for himself.

I'm not bitter about where Kyle went. I don't care where he chose to be honest with you. But quotes like that make it seem to me like the father had more direction in where he chose. Kyle is going to UCLA, not Kyle Sr. No question a parent should have some involvement on where their child picks, but this to me seems like a bit much. Thats my opinion. Nothing more than that.

My parents were very involved as I think all should be; what, at 18 your parents said, "hey, not my concern, just figure it out and when you do send me your new address and the bill."

Damn, my parents must have been pretty silly to think I'd be able to do my own research and figure out where I'd want to go. And looking back, I'm royally pissed that my father didn't serve as my mouthpiece and try to live vicariously through me.
