Not quite sure what a guy like him is looking for. It was his home state and he started all but one game.

Obviously looking for a bigger name program than MSt. Doubt we fit that criteria.

Big men generally take longer to develop, so I'm all for jumping on ones with paltry stats and hoping they eventually live up to their high school rankings. He did have a nice game against Duke in the tournament.

Owens did nothing at Tennessee and is on target to have a decent junior year and very nice senior year, given his work ethic. If we think Keita has even close to Owens' attitude, I say we go after him full force.

I would have taken Nikola Scekic if that were the case but staff failed to pull the trigger when they had him after hot dogs at Nathan's. There was value in having a 7 footer in practices rather than a walk on on scholarship.

Would imagine it was because SC had depth in the front court and because Frank Martin is a very demanding coach and it would be tough for a frosh to have all his assignments down pat.

Keita looks real good. Nice size, athleticism and skill-set. He was a freshman on a Final 4 South Carolina team. Kid has lots of upside. Hope we land him. 3 years eligibility is great too..

Yes, but having a guy like this to practice against can only help us when we go against some of the bigs in the league (except Delgado, because he's on another planet).

Also looks like that year on the bench will really help him. Kid could suit up at 255 after a year, and has plenty of time to absorb SJU's schemes.
