Have a feeling we will be seeing an even more toned Joel. Hopefully Pitino brings in some guys to push him harder. He'll also have help. The numbers don't matter, as we know, the Ws do.
It was only a verbal commitment and Jackson like Fland is a High School junior, plenty of time to change his mind. It happens all the time. I recall a junior by the name of Maurice "Mo" Harkless committing as a High School junior to UConn only to his mind at the beginning of the summer and by the end of the summer/early fall he had committed and signed with us.One already committed to UNC while the other hasn’t committed anywhere yet
Could see Joel's range extending with staff and his work ethic.Have a feeling we will be seeing an even more toned Joel. Hopefully Pitino brings in some guys to push him harder.
No we don't agree. No one ever said the roster wasn't flawed (most college rosters have a flaw or two). Many felt it was good enough to be competitive in the BE and go dancing. It was. Several players not fitting his style is a different story. Its equal parts ability and attitude (both on and off the court) which is what he talked about his press conference (players who can shoot, character etc.).After the Pitino presser, I think you all now realize that the roster was flawed beyond the ability of even Rick Pitino to salvage.
He wants 6 "new" players to fit his style of coaching.
Ergo, I stand by what I had posted and feel more confident about the changes that need to be made.
As I said, we won't miss certain players with experience because they were part of the bad experience as a team of "individuals".
When I said everyone was expendable except Joel Soriano I am glad both Van and Rick agreed.
He'll likely have more room to operate on the blocks due to better players and shooters on the team.Soriano's game will expand surrounded by good shooters.
Not to mention, Hubert Davis may likely find himself unemployed this time next year if he has a similar season as he had this season. It was only a verbal commitment and Jackson like Fland is a High School junior, plenty of time to change his mind. Agree. I hope reede too.Soriano Storr Drissa Gardner. I think that's it
Soriano Storr Drissa Gardner. I think that's it
The game hasn’t even started yet.I know nothing, but Yaxel would also seem to be a guy you give a shot to also...a banger.
And I agree with Austour, it's late in the game to be able to get more than 6 solid guys for next year from 'wherever'.
Not that it matters, but was curious and looked up WC Jr's HS rankings. 247 Sports didn't rank him but had him getting 'some kind' of interest from Cincy, FL, GA, NB, and ND, and Rivals ranked him a 3* with mid major interest.Iona G Walter Clayton, Jr. has entered the transfer portal. http://verbalcommits.com/players/walter-clayton-jr
And here we go!
Good point. I'm just a worrier...and a pacer. Lol.The game hasn’t even started yet.
question, while good enough for Iona, will he be for SJU?Not that it matters, but was curious and looked up WC Jr's HS rankings. 247 Sports didn't rank him but had him getting 'some kind' of interest from Cincy, FL, GA, NB, and ND, and Rivals ranked him a 3* with mid major interest.
Rick obviously saw the kid can play which is plenty good enough for me.
