Transfer Portal Mania

Ja'Kobi Gillepsie , PG Belmont, committed to Maryland. #14 player in portal per rivals.

Dug McDaniel crystal balled to TCU per On3.

Storr is not looking to go back to college. Priority is NBA, guess if the interesting choice will be if he only gets a 2nd round evaluation / 2 way deal will he choose that (500k per year approx) over an NIL deal at school...guess we'll see

Worst part is how horribly this is effecting the NY high school recruiting pool. High end kids are without D1 teams right now because schools couldn't be bothered with 17 year olds right now. Entire focus is on retaining players and portal. Last week a coach of a High end talent in the CHSAA told me "I have no idea what's going to happen with him" after being recruited by some of the premier schools in the country. It's pure chaos and I feel for kids who of no fault of their own are without a basketball home.

Those are the types of kids mid majors should be after. No reason for Speedy or Fordham not to be offering local 4 star kids, promise them 25 mins a game and to help them transfer and get paid after the season. If the kid balls out then you get a kid that balled out for a season on your team, if he struggles a bit maybe you get him to stick around for another season
