Because of football ? I wonder if for certain schools football ends up crowding out their basketball with NIL. Not saying that’s happening or going to happen just something have been wondering if it’s ever possible
He’s not even being looked at right now and he could make more money in college than any pro league.

A know one school wink wink that has delayed construction on a new basketball arena that was supposed to start being build 3-4 years ago to put donations into football program.
NIL and assurances he’d have a bigger role as lead guard.
His mother is also a travel nurse that works mostly in the northeast.
If Clayton did get back w/ Pitino, he'd get tons of publicity and be nationally recognized, All Big East 1st Team etc.
I was wondering the same. Makes sense.

I'm very well aware what is going on with their Football NIL and what happened with that QB etc.
And as much as I'm very happy and proud of our NIL situation, of which is getting better for next year, and I'm a proud contributor to, the SEC is a different animal. In all sports.

UF isn't a school that shoves basketball to the side, sure football is king like at Michigan etc, but that doesn't mean there aren't large funds dedicated to it. The other part of all this is 99.9% of people who think they know what the NIL landscape is at a school, or what a player is getting paid, are very very wrong. For example, the numbers on this message board, in chats, in private messages I've gotten, regarding the speculation of what SJU players have received over the last 2 years have been very wrong. No idea where these numbers come from but they have been incredibly off.
We're in a time where players, family members, agents, handlers are bold face lying to the person next to them about NIL or entice, enrage, leverage or con the next person. Trying to fracture lockerrooms around the country through jealously and bickering all due to NIL. It's why a lot of coaches are mum on it because of the chaos it has and will continue to cause in house from people who talk too much. It's a dirty dirty game right now.

Think i posted this a few weeks ago... been following around a kid still playing but one coach told me the expectation is huge names will enter . Either for purpose of actually moving or on agent advise for leverage to get better nil deal from current school. Negotiating in private prior to entering doesn't put same public pressure on school to pay and retain him. I told a poster/friend on here in a DM recently coaches are apoplectic bc a bunch of kids are spending more time distracted, talking to their agent about their future and NIL situation then they are reading games scouting reports. And I think you're seeing some of it already in a lack of preparation from some of these kids. How it affects St. John… I'm not really certain because their NL situation seems to be pretty competitive. so a lot of the names you're hearing are accurate… A lot of them aren't… And and a lot of these visits, or some of these visits, are getting to know the kids seeing what their price tag is, and then weighing the pros and cons versus future kids, and what that price might be. What I'm hearing is I think St. John's like other schools, and, like the kids are leveraging each other versus each other.
