Transfer Portal Mania

Few things
1)Appreciate the DM's and portol questions but out of respect for kids still playing i'll wait until either they officially announce or seasons over to talk about specific players.
2) I can say with 100% absolute certainty(baring some huge unforeseen NIL offer) Luis, Zubby, Sim will be back. Taylor is a lean and in full honesty don't know enough info about Brady to comment but assumption is he will return.
3) I doubt the Iona kids return.
4) Both the quantity and quality of kids agents who have reached out is very encouraging. The money is there..this will be a talented roster next yr.....they are looking for a pg, shooter and athletic big.. a few familiar names might resurface ...might be another HS kid as well

Amazing news, always appreciate your insights. Luis/Zuby/Sim/Dunlap is a great core to bring back. Really hope Taylor can be convinced also. Him and Luis are close buddies, which is what you need if you're in competition for the same PT.

Stacking portal guys on those 4-5 is huge.

The man! Thx my friend!

Just think of the impact the last two portal cycles have had on UConn, Newton and Spencer have been game changers. We need to replicate their balanced approach of mixing in solid high school kids in with portal guys with more than adequate NIL funding.

We apparently have the resources, have a few quality prep kids coming and now must raise the bar on very talented portal players who fit with what Rick is looking to run. For a program stagnant for so long, SJU seems positioned quite well for big time success. Kudos to Rick and Father Shanley for this sea change.

It's scary too because them being able to keep a guy like Samson Johnson happy for three years on the bench is going to reap major, major benefits next year.

Yup, they also lost three guys to the pros w/o losing a beat. Hurley is a lunatic, but he & a very good staff keep a lot of good kids, scout portal & fit well and maintain quality, not easy.

Ahem. Excuse me, is this thing on (cue tapping imaginary microphone with ear piecing feedback sound)?

I ask all guests to refrain from indulging in complimentary UConn banter. It is tawdry and unbecoming behavior, especially when we are representatives and have a responsibility as members of the flagship SJU online fandom community.

If anyone remains unconvinced or uncertain of what is appropriate behavior (which I am certain can be found in the extremely fine print somewhere) keep this picture embedded in your St.John’s heart and brain as a measuring stick.

In other words, if you send adoration to this guy, you should have your internet air supply cut off.

Thank you in advance and for posting on red.fans.

I doubt we can find a better defensive wing than Taylor will be in his second year here. I see him as incredibly valuable.

He and Luis could be excellent complements to each other on both sides of the ball and both draw contact and want to play fast in space.
While I like Taylor defensively, he has to give us more offensively to be deserving of considerable minutes.

I also believe it will be hard to replicate this years back court. Jenkins and Dingle getting 46 points against UConn will be hard to match.

Dingle's overall production this year is replaceable. Jenkins was the difference for us on the court this season. His minutes and production will be difficult to replace. Wilcher showed nothing to think he can play meaningful minutes or give meaningful production next season, based on what we've seen this season.

1. To Dingle’s credit he worked hard and has come up big over the win streak, but if his portal “replacement” gets going earlier than Match, I agree.

2. True, Jenkins will be a tough replacement, but if a couple of the high end portal names come here, they will more than offset Jenkins’ production and minutes.

3. Wilcher is a talented freshman. We saw glimpses, but most importantly, he will be infinitely better next season after practicing in the program for a year. It is unwise to throw the freshman out with the bath water.

RJ Luis and Brady Dunlap should also be expected to improve
