Time To Man Up Posters-The Line Forms Here

From the spring of Lavin's first year when he had Norm's seniors playing good exciting basketball to just prior to
the opening of school in his second year when it seemed every recruit he went after signed up I agree wholeheartedly.
Then eligibility reared its ugly head. Things haven't looked as good since.

April 26, 2010.

I knew something was up when rain canceled the Mets game in which Lavin was supposed to throw out the first pitch.

I have two brackets and one has us beating S.D. State, Duke and Georgetown and getting beaten by the Zags in the elite 8. We have never beaten the Zags so I hope I am wrong this time. I think we could go deep.
I am either an optimist or a St. John's fan. ;)

I agree with Greg Bodkin, or at least I did before the suspension, and I even had this real crazy notion that I'd travel to a final four.

Let's face it, a fairly mediocre/lousy UConn team last year, with a first year head coach, won the whole damn thing. (I still can't believe that happened.)

I got caught up in the emotion of some nice wins in Feb and March, then the heart aches of Villanova and BET. I like Lavin, but too inconsistent.

I decided to treat myself to the Met-Sox spring training game yesterday to make up for the huge Obekpa disappointment. A friend called me on the long drive and told me Wheeler was out for 18 months. I just can't get any luck as a fan.

Degrom looked great today though. They better keep gee

kind of off topic but I want to give everyone a message I got on my Facebook from a buddy of mine about Obekpa and how pissed I was and who went to uconn and is diehard uconn fan since he went to school there in 87.

I thought this was an interesting perspective from a neutral 3rd party who has no side in this debate

"wouldve tested positive for marijuana anyway. you have a real coach keep changing and you'll never get better! I remember when people wanted to get rid of Calhoun how'd that work out, patience boys"

Thanks for sharing Mike. I was once a women's Uconn basketball fan but never was a fan of Jim Calhoun. He seems mellowed in retirement. Their men's teams have had numerous issues over the years and much worse than Obekpa smoking a doobie. The difference is coach Calhoun never took a day off from recruiting which is the lifeblood of any successful program. Lav has a few weeks to turn that failure around. Most of us hope he does.

Even though I went to UConn and hate the team, and know Calhoun cheated along the way, you can't even mention Lavin in the same sentence as a coach. At the very least Calhoun always kept it real when dealing with the press, even if he was an arrogant prick
