The Official 2014 Big East Tournament Thread

Gtown with a brutal loss to DePaul tonight. Terrible uninspired game. Bad for the Big East. Their are about 10 DePaul fans in the City that are willing
to pay $63 for the game tomorrow. For a Chicago team they have no following at all. I just heard from a guy at a Chicago bar and he had to beg to
have the game turned on. First DePaul Big East win in about 8 years.

Depaul actually draws really well when they are winning...way better than us. They need a new coach badly. Purnell is shot...no energy. He's like an old, sad trail horse walking little kids because he can't ride anymore...needs to go to the glue factory.

He is not getting fired so status quo next year and I don;t believe DePaul will ever out draw St. John;s winning or losing.
Look around tomorrow and see how many DePaul jerseys, shirts, hats, etc are there.

we can finally put the ncaa talk for georgetown to rest. sucks because their fans travel well.

They don't have to travel well for nyc they have a huge alumni base here.

As much as I love rysheed, garret showed tonight he deserved the award he got

I like Garret a lot, but what difference did he make this year for them? They were 11-21 (three OT losses) last year and entered tonight 11-20 this year (only one OT loss). They returned nearly everyone--including the 2010-2011 Big East ROY--and added two awesome freshmen. You don't think Jordan would have given them a few more wins and put up better stats?

I mean, they just lost at home in a battle for last place with Butler by 33 points.

Hey, I don't recall you complaining when harkless won it, and we didn't win many games that year..

Tonight's session should be a small crowd besides Creighton fans.

No it shouldn't. Last night was a great crowd for opening night, nova fans travel well, seton hall fans have been buying a lot of tix since their win last night, I was pleased with the crowd last night, and with double the fan bases coming tonight, the crowd should be very respectable.

@SOrangeJuice: Seton Hall opens up as 8.5 point underdogs taking on Villanova at the Garden this afternoon. Tip in 2 hours. #shbb

Hey anyone know what radio station is broadcasting the early games? I want to save my data plan/live streaming for the Redmen/Friars game.

The early session will be a much larger crowd than the evening session than the evening session with Georgetown losing. I am not talking about tickets sold but people in the building.

@SOrangeJuice: Looks like the NY Post line (SHU +8.5), was overnight guess set before Butler game. Vegas opens up with Seton Hall 10.5 point dogs. #shbb

Two quick points about last night, first there were plenty of Creighton fans in the house last night, very good sign, someone said they might be the new UConn fans but only more polite LOL. Second thing was really funny; as I leave the Garden and get ready to hop on the subway I see a group of fans dressed in Syracuse gear, yes I said Syracuse gear. When we got on the train I couldn't resist so I said to them "either you guys are in big time denial or you made a wrong turn on the way to Greensboro". They laughed and said that they were actually there with other SU fans as well who just hated the move the ACC and still prefer the Big East tournament even without SU. I kid you not.

real basketball fans, I like it.

it's still early but seton hall leading villanova 19-11

I said it was going to be a war yesterday and still think it will be. Seton Hall is pretty tough.
