Pretty shocked to log on here and not see any thread about this...

Did anyone watch the first two episodes last night? Watched it with my family and my dad got excited when Wennington got some time. Him, pippen and Kerr got a lot of clips into the first two hours as Jordan’s former teammates.

I thought the first two hours were pretty fantastic. This conflict between the GM, trying to rip apart a dynasty when they are still clearly the best, is so weird and yet fascinating.

I did and enjoyed it..

Jerry Krause came across as the bad guy.. Didn't realize he had passed away

look forward to the next few weeks

I watched it and loved it. Even my wife, who normally is not much of a basketball fan, watched and enjoyed it. Can't wait for next Sunday!
MJ quietly does a lot of good things for his home state. Made major contributions to Novant health facilities that serve lower income areas in Charlotte about a year ago.

This whole situations sucks but one big advantage is a lot more time with family including Sunday dinners that even after the meal is done, we are still sitting around talking, sometimes for hours. Yesterday we moved from the dinner table to watch it. Previously I had not intention on doing so, but the kids all wanted to.

It was good and I really like the area time Bill received.

Wennington is a really great guy. HE played under McKillop at LI Lutheran, was very social on campus during his playing days, especially when the rathskeller in the student center served beer on Friday afternoons. I met him at our 25th anniversary of the Final Four celebration, and he is not surprisingly someone who speaks very well. He is or was the Bulls color radio announcer.

He still is their radio gut. Just a great guy with a great sense of humor.

Met Bill at a St John's game a few years back in MSG. He was very nice and very tall. He mentioned he had 3 championship rings while playing with the Bulls.

I watched ep 3 and 4 tonight. It focused on building the team and rivalry with Detroit Pistons. I'd forgotten about the brutal shots that Jordan and his teammates took in those early years.

I didn't watch much pro ball back then. I didn't like the hard fouls and dirty play that guys like Rodman and Bill Laimbeer used on Larry Bird and Jordan. I'm glad the NBA changed the rules and eliminated the worst of those tactics. It's still a physical game, but nothing like the 80's and 90's.
I still prefer college ball. I like the emotion and passion the young guys bring to the game. Coaches like Mike Anderson motivate players to go beyond their talent and show real grit. I get more excited watching St John's vs Georgetown than most pro games.

Bill is a fantastic guy! We had several classes together at St. John’s. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I would give him a ride from campus to Hillside Ave. He would then catch the bus home.
I had a canary yellow Dodge Colt. Watching this seven footer squeeze in, then out was comical. People would stop in their tracks to watch the show.

I need to attend a Bulls-Knicks game at the Garden to catch up with him.

Totally agree...the only way I'll seriously watch the NBA all season is if the Knicks are good and we all know that will never happen at least as long as Dolan is the owner. College is so much more fun. There is so much more parity. You have guys from Davidson, Creighton, and Kansas vying for POY. Anything can happen any day. There really are no super teams except the usual monsters of Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, etc. The superteams ruined the NBA for me. It's not about the team anymore it's about the individual superstars thinking they're too good for certain teams and just looking to get a ring the quickest and easiest way possible. Imagine Trae Young, Embiid, AD, Curry, Melo, etc. all together in college if they were able to be free agents like the NBA and just wanted the easiest path to a title. It would be so boring seeing the same thing play out every year. The NBA is like 2-3 great teams and maybe 1-2 good teams. Then it drops off a ton. I'd rather watch a terrible SJ team play Nova over any NBA game these days unless Knicks are good again which will take an act of god.

Pretty much the same reason I gave up on the NBA. To me it's not so much different than pro wrestling. Individual talent being showcased and story lines are prioritized over quality of play. It's even less fun to watch now with analytics taking a major part.

Not to mention there's zero defense played most of the time in the NBA. It was more fun when each team seemed to have 1 really good player and other role players. Having 3 all star teams and a few good but not great teams and then everyone else is just stupid. I said years ago they should've categorized type A, B, and C players. No team can have more than 1 type A guy. That would force parity. It just seems so fake so I agree with the wrestling comparison. The Decision in 2010 I believe was just such an egotistical and shallow event for LeBron. Players literally just play for themselves and no one else. They don't play for fans or pride or their team. That's why you see KD, LeBron, Kyrie, and other superstars moving all over these days. I was raised in the Jordan days where for the most part the star of your team stuck around and really wanted to be part of the culture there. These days it's like that girl who always thinks she can do better and never settles down.

Had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago at Mustang Sally's after an SJU game. He was very down to earth and hospitable. I think he is friends with some posters here and does read the message board. He is one of the tallest people I have ever met in person, made me feel like a midget and I am 6'2".

The nba is still great, don’t know what you guys are talking about.

Stop pretending the NBA in the 80s/90s wasn’t the same shit. Celtics, lakers, later the pistons and then bulls. For the most part the same names in the finals with some changes year to year

The NBA may not be AS great as it was but the revisionist history with it is hilarious

Being in my mid 40's, I only saw NBA from mid 80's until now. With that I can't comment on style of play before then, but it's clear to me that watching NBA in mid 80's to early 2000's was much better to watch. Today, I can only watch some playoffs and the finals. There is just too little to root for as players play regular season too non chalantly, and u agree with a ove that the forced collection of stars is just not entertaining. Warriors made it fun as that was homegrown prior to Durant. I dont mind all the 3's today, and don't miss all the fighting in the 80's, but watching the competitiveness of the guys back then is way better than today. Not close for me.

The NBA died for me when the Nets moved back to Jersey in 77/78. ;)

Actually lost interest while in college, and my primary and secondary hoops interests have been ST Johns and college hoops since around 1982 (1984 for St Johns when I first moved into the city)..
