And that punch in the nuts will come in the form of a crappy bullpen. That scares me the most. I am waiting to hear Meijia to have TJ surgery. No Parnell. No Black. Worries me but hey that comes with being a Mets fan. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop.Excellent start today. Damn I actually have hope as a met fan. Just a matter of time before I get punched in the nuts of fandom and watch something bad happen to my team but for a day it was great to watch him out there
Our bats don't impress me at all. Bullpen not great either but not a lot of teams have great pens but the bats worry meHarvey was excellent wasn't he? The staff as a whole has been awesome this opening series. The bats good today, but I still don't trust this lineup. Leadoff hitter strikes out too much and hits like .220, Flores batting in the 9 spot (Larussa has done more stupid stuff to baseball than anyone ever), and Cuddyer--will he last 100 games? That said, they were hitting liners today, and Duda seems legit.
This could be a fun year, and the division may be more open than originally considered.
MJ, as Mets fans, of course we know better, but dag, with this and Mullin...
at least the Jets will remain the Jets?

great listMy favorite players in baseball right now are Matt Harvey and Ian Desmond.
Harvey was incredible. We got robbed as fans already with Wheeler and Edgin getting Tommy John. We could have seen an awesome young pitcher throwing 4-5 days a week if Wheeler didn't get hurt.
Very good rotation. The the lineup from top to bottom is solid...no guy is a weak link. I think Flores and d'Arnaud really turn the corner this year. d'Arnaud is off to a great start with Plawecki a few months away.
It'll be a fun season....I could live with .500 if nothing happens to my boys Harvey and deGrom.
Been completely out of the loop since friday. Didn't know the mets lost the 1st 2 but at least they won today.Harvey was incredible. decent read, but i hate how Grantland LINKSTHIS and THENTHAT to know half of what they are referring to. Since when did an "article" become a choose your own adventure?
Mar, can't say I'm sold on the lineup yet, but it should be better. Grandy has gotten on base a bit, and hit the ball hard, but 1-11 (game against Atl just started near 9pm) ain't going to cut it. Duda, d'Arnaud, Cuddyer, and Wright have hit the ball solid as well. Hopefully it continues to pick up, and I hope Grandy isn't Jay Bell Version 2.0. He's so likeable, would love for him to succeed as a Met.
peace.

That was a pretty cool addition to the game. I was all the way in the upper deck but holy crap did they fly low. It seemed like they were right on top of the score board in centerfield.

Also Cuddeyer goes on the DL 'cause he's Cuddeyer.
