Amen to that Paultz!

It was a rollercoaster season but it was a lot of fun and these kids were great ambassador's for this program. It sucks how it all ended, but they should be very proud of what they accomplished.

Not only did they exceed my expectations, particularly once Heron went down, but it was refreshing to see a SJU team and individual players approve. Not only was I confident we would win today, but I had a good feeling about Providence or Butler on Friday night if we got to that point.

Also props to SJU fans, including myself (pat on back), who attended last night. With everything going on, and a .500 team, there was every reason not to go. We had a good crowd and the crowd helped propel the team to a victory that made not only us feel good as fans, but Cragg, the staff and most importantly our players. Williams, Earlington and others were ecstatic waiving their arms to get the crowd up when we dribbled it out, and I was glad they got to experience that moment. I feel confident there will be more to come.

Thank you for laying the foundation for the return of St John's bball that we all miss. Great group from head coach all they way down to the walkons. Cant wait to see how much they improve again next year. Some talent coming in will only help us reach higher. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to with realistic visions of something greater

Do you think that Creighton thought today they were playing the 9th seeded team?

Thank you Mike Cragg, CMA and staff, and to all the kids who simply outworked talented competition all season.

Was very proud of the comeback last night - especially sitting in between a couple of GT fans. It was great when my turn to yahoo came around.

They looked good today. Too bad. CMA did a real nice job with them.

Feel for all college seniors. End of the road.

Say what you want about the talent level of this roster. All a coach can ask for is his team to put themselves in a position to win. 17 victories in the bank and on at least 5 occasions they had the lead at the under 4 minute mark of the second half before falling. I almost think we win 20 easy if they were playing under TBT rules with the ELAM ending. Kudos to this team for never giving up.

Correction: 17.5 wins

Man, this is so sad. At least we ended the season on as high of a note as possible (given that none of the other major conferences concluded yet), but it's depressing to think what could've happened.

The team is going out as winners this year regardless. We weren't eliminated and played our best ball at the end of the season. I hope to see everyone eligible return (or at least most of them)! We're just getting started and the future is bright.

The team started to gel and that was without Heron, and Roberts. CMA gets a lot of credit for developing our players and having them buy in. A bummer canceling the game at half time. But have to be happy w the play of late.

At the midway point I posted a thread about the last 10 games of the season. My point is that good coaches are able to get teams playing well down the stretch. Cooley is my yardstick, and sure enough Providence ended with a 7 game win streak.

It didn't look good for our kids at 2-8 in conference, but they ended up winning 3 out of the last 4 games, 4 out of their last 8, and 5 of their last 12. Not exactly the stuff of championships, but a tremendous measure of just how much they improved.

They were a very tough out down the stretch, and yea Villanova, Seton Hall, and a few other teams overhwhelmed them at times, but man, every kid in the rotation improved, and every kid - Dunn, LJ, Williams, Rutherford, Caraher, Champagnie, and Earlington EACH had moments where they were the best player on the floor. Every single one of them would deserve minutes on any team in the Big East this season, and each one of them have hearts of lions.

No sadness here on my part. Usually I am done with basketball as soon as our season ends. I simply cannot wait till next season to begin. Great things happening in Queens.

I’m glad you used the word “winners”, because that’s exactly what these kids are; a group of winners, as basketball players and as young men. There is no doubt in my mind that most, if not all, will go on to be successful in life.

Loved this team ....energy, effort and attitude.

Anderson exceeded my expectations and great to see a true coach at the helm who leads on and off the court.

One last thing. While watching the game today the announcers mentioned that Justin Cole was in the game. Everything is kind of melding together whether I was watching the Creighton game 1st half or G’Town 2nd half. I don’t know if he really thought he could help or just acknowledged the kid but if I heard correctly (that he played) that was a wonderful gesture to get him in the BE Tournament.

There were a number of times during the big east schedule when you could understand if the team took their foot off the gas and relaxed but it is to their credit and the coaching staff that they fought to the end.

It's been a lot of fun watching this team form after Coach Anderson was hired. I followed the news closely all summer as they trained.

What a season it's been. The wins and losses made for an exciting and emotional season. The coaches and players proudly represented St John's.
Thank you for this season and I'm looking forward to the next one.
There are whispers of granting seniors another hear of eligibility based on what happened. Heron back next year?
I think that's just for the spring sports, whose seasons barely got off the ground.
