Syracuse Game Thread

We are playing like we are intimidated is right. I hate how we wilt against these guys. I know lots of other teams get waxed up in Canada, but I never get used to it. Very hard to stomach how poorly we are playing right now.
 
it always amazed me that cuse always seems to have at least 10 guys that would start for any big east team.
 
Syracuse looks twice as good as St John's sad to say. So much better shooting and passing. Frenchie is way off and having trouble with the Dome
which is to be expected the first time there. Team looks lost.
 
I agree Tim K. They don't even look for Borgault. I klnow he's missed a few shots but he hasn't had a chance to get into the flow of the game. They should be running plays specififcally to get him open. How can this team not know how to attack a zone? They miss Branch and a guy like Gift in this game.

The game against Louisville will not be any better than this with them coming off that huge loss yesterday to Notre Dame in 5OT's. Louisville is going to be hungry.
 
-Bourgault missing wide open 3's...could easily be a 6 pt deficit headed into half if he makes a few
-Refs are extremely whistle happy...lots of ticky tack phantom calls on us
-Harrison is ice cold...ICE cold. I don't even remember the last game he was hot from 3 consistently all game.
-It seems we can never play Cuse with both our head coach and our entire team...can we play them full strength for once?
-Cuse just doesn't miss...they are a very tight shooting team. No rim rattlers, just net.
-We have to stop trying to pass through 3 Cuse defenders only to turn it over...
-This feels like the G'Town game...down 13 which is a lot but feels like 30 and probably will be soon
 
We better man up over halftime and play the second half hard. A few hard fouls under the basket if need be. Syracuse def not taking us seriously.

Borgault def threw up some bricks but to win we need him to hit a few the second half.
 
Can't run the matchup zone every single possession for the entire game.

Cuse hasn't that they can beat us off the dribble.

Ugh this is so frustrating.

I wish once we just came out and played angry. Turn Dom loose and let him play man-to-man.

This team really isn't built to play the matchup zone primarily the more that I watch them.
 
18% from 3...and that's including a decent amount of wide open looks.

If you want to be able to knock off these big boys you HAVE to make 3's. A team like Nova would probably be tied with them at half right now.

I jsut don't see a single thing we do better than Syracuse. They play the zone better, shoot better, are bigger, and run a crisper offense.

His 2 year plan looks like was shortened to a year and a half. He'll be happier when he plays for pay. if the game on the line he kinda gets into it.

If he wants a ride to the airport I will be more than happy to give him one.

We don't need a prima donna on this team. Heck, Mullin and Berry weren't prima donna's and they won Wooden Awards and had every right to be one !
 
Harrison needs to get his attitude in check, but the kid honestly does get targeted a LOT for ticky tacks by refs. I can see where his frustration comes from.
