Steere Transferring
I just don’t get kids who are not motivated by the opportunity to play D1 basketball. Missed opportunity for them. What a waste.

Good news is, I trust the current staff to find kids who are motivated and committed to Coach Anderson’s program.
Maybe some kids like the game, but they don't love what goes into getting better at it.

Could be. However, if you got this far...? Possible people have seen his size and kept excusing the lack of a work ethic. Hoping he would gain a passion that is just not there.

Everyone knew the outcome on this. CMA was right guy to get something out of him, but he just never bought in. Let’s move on to a player who overachieves, works his tail off and embraces rules & structure.

Glad we’re getting this scholly back. Not buying the Caraher love. He definitely works hard, has a great attitude so I’m happy to have him for depth. Just don’t see him getting much pt ( based hopefully on a much better roster).

Which everyone seems to have done excluding Steere, Wright and Keita.
Anyone see any similarity amongst those three ?

It seems clear to me that the new culture has been instilled which will make the buy-in that much easier from all newcomers. The future appears very bright. Rand would be a very nice replacement for Steere IMHO.
I guess Steere will have to sit out another year?

How much eligiblity does that leave?

One or two years?
Steere transferring does not cost him a year of eligibility. He is finishing his sophomore year on time.
Too bad, I wanted to see what McGriff could do. I suppose he could petition for a waiver saying he basically sat out anyway. Having Posh here with same amount of eligibility probably killed any desire to stay.

Aside from law school, I remember a poster telling me that Caraher has a girlfriend here. . .
Did you hear McGiff is transferring? Some rumbling on JJ that he’s gone.

Judging from how Coach Anderson used him with more than a fair amount of playing time, I think Caraher stays and fills the same role next season . When Caraher is in the game , the ball moves , he moves and stuff happens positively . I think Anderson values that . Yes , he’s a step slow , not the great shooter he was touted to be but , he is a excellent passer . And , he seems well liked by his teammates and the Coaching staff . Yes , he gets beat off the dribble by quick BE Forwards but , who doesn’t ? Think he’s a good bet to stay .

Agree with you that Caraher's on court moving creates ball movement which is a good thing. If you have heard Pitino talk about his time in Greece he said he liked and picked up on the Euro offenses which emphasize player and ball movement.

And let's not forget he was either on the front end or back end of give and go. Coach rewards a player like Caraher as evidenced by his playing time. No doubt in my mind he will be part of the rotation next year.

Addition by subtraction. You could replace this one with a bag of balls and the team would be better off

I too, don’t expect Caherer to transfer. He won’t be a stater, but has developed a well rounded game, rebounding ,passing and scoring w his midrange game.. He will be a valuable piece off the bench.

If I had a nicket for every post 6 months ago hoping for Steere to get a waiver to play immediately because he would be a huge lift for the frontcourt.

The 3 transfers brought in before and during 2018-19 season Caraher, Eli Wright and Steere. Wright never played a game, Steere was a complete bust and Caraher could maybe develop into a decent bench player.
He was a highly ranked kid. Not like a random two star kid people were hyping up. Clearly he has zero drive. Nobody knew that until it was clear when he wasn’t getting any minutes and we needed a big man.
Agree. He looked like he had skills. But, always looked like he just rolled out of bed when on the bench

Who is Andre the Giant?

An opportunity to get better with Steere never buying in. Now get a better player. It will be interesting to see if McGriff sticks around in face of upgraded guard group.
McGriff was the next guy I was thinking about.

Is LJ still figuring things out? And only other guy I would think outside of McGriff that may transfer is possibly Caraher, you heard anything about him?
Dave apparently has keen interest in SJU Law School, so would not surprise me if he stays.
good for him..thought he was too slow for this level...but have to admit that, late in the season, I gained an appreciation for his BB IQ...he worked hard, knew when to cut and had good instincts

Judging by his Instagram post DC definitely coming back, Another year with CMA and the staff , hewill only get better
