Posted anywhere or inside info ?
Either way I agree with you, a complete waste of a ship for a year and a half. Let’s get a big man who is hungry to fit it n, And board, set screens and play D and we will be way ahead of where we were with Steere.

It’s all over twitter. Sorry forgot to grab the tweets

If I had a nicket for every post 6 months ago hoping for Steere to get a waiver to play immediately because he would be a huge lift for the frontcourt.

The 3 transfers brought in before and during 2018-19 season Caraher, Eli Wright and Steere. Wright never played a game, Steere was a complete bust and Caraher could maybe develop into a decent bench player.

@NYPost_Brazille
St Johns forward Ian Steere is in the transfer portal, source confirms.
@VerbalCommitsfirst.

Did Steere not notice every teammate was busting their ass, and their coach busting his too? I guess he did and chose busting it wasn't for him.

He was a highly ranked kid. Not like a random two star kid people were hyping up. Clearly he has zero drive. Nobody knew that until it was clear when he wasn’t getting any minutes and we needed a big man.

By the time his eligibility runs out Steere will have his butt kissed probably more than any other recruit when you take into consideration his accomplishments.

Not that highly rated. Mostly a top 125-150 kid in most rankings. But either way, besides relying WAY too much on the transfers previous staff did an unbelievably piss poor job of evaluating these kids before they came.
Throw in Keita, Dixon. Matt A transfer game was a disaster. So happy he's gone.
Matt could've worked in a staff with a better makeup and structure as well as a HC that was much more engaged in recruiting. Meaning he could concentrate on a transfer or 2 each year with other solid recruiters doing leg work on prep kids let's say. Again this is less a defense of Matt and more a realization that the previous staff was never going to work.

For a big body though, he was pretty high. The guards dominate the top 100.

Agree though that this was Matt's fingerprints.

An opportunity to get better with Steere never buying in. Now get a better player. It will be interesting to see if McGriff sticks around in face of upgraded guard group.

I will never argue the second point.

As for a 125-150 big this board would genuflect to have that for the past how many years.

McGriff was the next guy I was thinking about.

Is LJ still figuring things out? And only other guy I would think outside of McGriff that may transfer is possibly Caraher, you heard anything about him?

The elusive “white whale”

With one scholarship now open, St. John's top priority is adding a big who can contribute immediately, I'm told. #sjubb

Dave apparently has keen interest in SJU Law School, so would not surprise me if he stays.
