I figure the best way to see what was happening was to ask. Zach is a good guy[/quote]

Great job, terrificboss. I hope Zachis just being glass half-empty here. Guess, we shall see.
BTW, luv your Avatar!

Mitch not returning in current role it would appear. Does he come back at all?

I don't like it. I want him back.

I would only want him back in an advisory capacity ( a la Gene Keady)
He hasn't made the commitment to be a viable full time assistant coach

The bigger question is who is replacing him in that capacity?
Hoping it’s Mike Rice or someone else with x/o and recruiting bonafides.

Here's a possible problem as I see it. If Mitch was making Keady money (I think I heard somewhere that he was and I wouldn't stand by that), that's chump change for a former NBA star and as a result he may not have seen the need to work is ass off the way most working stiffs would see it. As it is, for most staff, 400K is a ton of money for any assistant, and I would think a guy in that role would know he'd have to bring a lot to the table. Pretty certain neither Matt nor Greg make that kind of money, and together they may not make that much. If Mitch decides not to return (or decided for him), the door is wide open to hire a guy who is credentialed as a coach with a will to earn his salary.

True, but he accepted the job knowing what was involved .He must have signed a contract? Seems strange ,We weren't going to pay him just to hang out with his friend or were we. Hope now we get someone who 1) wants to work hard and 2) and wants to be here to see the program advance.

False matt is very well paid as he should be. He alone is responsable for constructing the team.

I stood to be corrected as I didn't make a strong assertion. I would disagree with the statement, "He alone is responsible..." Kids aren't coming here to play for Matt, they are coming to play for Chris and St. Jean - the guys who run practices and set player rotations. Matt may do nearly all the setup work and follow up work, but the way I see it, if any kid didn't end up with a high opinion of the guys who will actually develop them and coach them, the deal would never be closed. I would guess he serves up hot prospects to Chris, and kids make their decisions based on their interactions with Mullin, meeting teammates, and visiting campus.

All I'm going to say is if this happens I'm gonna make sure my local chinese restaurant serves extra Rice because Paultz was on this a few months ago before anyone else was ( ok last year we were all wrong ). But Paultz has stuck by tea leaves while I ordered Pad Thai in boredom

And I want Beast as our AD because I guarantee he wont take crap from anyone

Don't think it can be stated enough how much he would help not only coaching but recruiting the hotbed of NJ talent. Paultz, what kind of timeline are we looking at here?

Shortly after Rice’s AAU season is over I would think. If nothing then, I doubt this happens, but we’ll see.
