Would be nice for him to have a solid breakout game…to balance Harrison…then we'll be "cooking with gas" as my father used to say and a poster recently wrote…

I can recall my football coach saying such over 20 years ago.

Must be a "way-back" generation thing - my dad was a WWII veteran and died in 2003 at age 84 - my best friend - but he often used that expression - my son Joe (age 17 going to UMass next Fall 2013 whichi I'm proud of = good baseball player if he gets over his ACL) got a kick out of it when I used it recently

After a slow start (down by 9-10) SJU cooking with gas!

Maybe that comes from when gas was first available and was so much better than coal or wood…who knows its origin???the shadow perhaps

Not sure. He's a generous 6'5. I will say he does look a bit broader in the shoulders.

Either way, we have to push this lead out to start the 2nd half because if it comes down to a FT shooting contest, we'll be in trouble.

Terrible FT shooting which I talked about early on and everyone got on me for it might cost us the game. We are close to dead last in division I hoops in that category. No more excuses like "oh we only shot 9 of them". Clearly this team does not spend enough time FT shooting. Especially Obekpa...I could shoot 3's at a better clip most days with no one covering me than he can shoot FT's. Hope our minimal cushion is enough.
 
I joked last game he would be better taking jump shots for free throws. Now considering the air ball from ten,,,????
 
I guess the instrux were go inside to O and Sampson,.....but NOT blindly with everyone watching yhe defense collapse
