Full court pressure can be very effective, especially with a lead. The scoreboard pressure can force opponents into bad decisions and rushed shots. But once a team hits some outside shots, (5-5 from 3 to start) they are more difficult to rattle and rush into errors. To defeat our pressure, a team doesn't have to have great individual quickness, just quickness with the ball. And composure most of all. Once they know they will get open looks - and they also have one of the leading scorers in the nation on their team - they will feel comfortable against our pressure.
I know the coach and staff want to work on the defense. But we have to be able to switch to man against a good shooting team. Other teams will prepare for our zone. I know in the long run this is good preparation for the big east, but we shouldn't sacrifice this win.
