The Johnnies beat USF 7-3 to win the Big East Championship. CONGRATULATIONS guys. Now on to the NCAA Tournament.

Finally something both the atheists and the devout Catholics can agree on. Great job by Coach Blankmeyer, Hansen and the gang go get them in the NCAA's.....

Is it just me but it seems like the Baseball NCAA tourney is later and later each year, I remember when  the NCAA college world series championship was on CBS Sports the same day as the Belmont Stakes.

I saw the end of the game and I was thrilled. Way to go guys! Congrats on your seventh BE championship; a conference record! :cheer:

Congrats the the Baseball team and staff! Excellent job winning the Big East Tourney to go back to the big dance for the 3rd straight year....I think they were in Charlottesville, VA for the last 2 tournaments so I wouldn't be surprised to see them back there again this year

Seems as if we play at Virginia recently. Go Johnnies!

Nice crowd down here for the game. About 200. mostly parents and family and friends but we matched up favorably with everyone except, of course, USF who had probably 300-400 supporters today. More of us should consider the trip to see great competitive baseball in a magnificent stadium  with super weather and fan friendly prices.......$3.20 per ticket sit anywhere; most of us sat in the shade at the top of the grandstand. Almost everyone takes home a baseball caught in the stands if they want to chase one down and the beers are $4.00 ($1.00 on promotion evenings)
A ticket to the Yankees is close to the cost of a flight from JFK to Tampa, and three nights in a hotel here is about the cost of 1/2 a night in NY.We should have more fans here who come just for the beach, the laughs, the sun, the prices, and for the 6 time Big East Champs. It's really a great vacation and a wonderful party spot.
It was great to see these veterans win their second BE championship in 3 years after losing in the championship game last year...............it's kind of a DYNASTY, sort of.

Moose, 1. thank you for the link. Living in Va. I don't always get results timely Your site had a great picture and lots of other information that made following the teams progression easy. I really appreciated and enjoyed the series.
2. Do you know the reasoning for chosing the regional sites. There seems to be an inbalance in that some conferences have many more sites than others(ACC 4, Pac 12 4, SEC 3, Conf 12 3, Big 10 1, Big east 0)
3. St. John's has always had a good baseball teams going back to my time at the school 1961-65. I remember that Joe Torre signed to play for St. John's in 1962 but decided to go straight to the pros out of St. Francis Prep.
4. Both the lacrosse and baseball are playing their best and making alumni and school proud.

Thanks for the story about Joe Torre!

SJU lost to North Carolina, 8-4, earlier this season. Last year in the NCAA tourney they split with East Carolina, winning 2-0 and then losing 6-4.

A lot of so called experts feel that ECU barely deserved to even get in the field. They feel because there is an ECU administrator on the selection committee that they got in. Also to note they mentioned the same theory when it came to STJ last year.

So we're looking at Baltz, Hansen and Carasiti all going in the Top 6 rounds or so this year? Anyone else?

So why are they seeded ahead of us? Not that it really makes any difference.

Exactly the point. These people were saying they were maybe the last deserving team so somewhere in the 4 range, maybe a 3 depending on some lower level conference auto qualifiers. Hopefully it bodes well for us and a date with UNC.
