Smith Potentially Out for Rest of Regular Season

I really need to stop posting🙄...
1)It's coach speak
2) He's fine mentality..it's motivation bc ANY player at any level is going to have trepidation/favor an injury at first and Rick needs him full throttle.
3) You won't see him tomorrow but you will see him before end of season.
Enjoy game tomorrow..work with a Crieghton kid so mixed interest but should be a great game.

Voice of reason chiming in to keep the crazies at bay (at least for the next few minutes).

Fear of getting reinjured especially with that kind of injury. Pretty normal to me

You raise a interesting point . Didn’t think of it . Do we have Sports Psychologists available to counsel Smith ?

Sports injuries are difficult for fans to understand . We all saw how hard Smith was injured when he was slammed to the floor and then squashed .
In Hockey , they never disclose the extent of injuries . It’s always “ Upper Body Injury or Lower Body Injury .”
And , most injuries are defined as Day to day. Which can last for a month .

The way Smith leaped and defended almost with reckless abandon, I can’t see him getting back to the player he was prior to his injury (s) if he’s concerned about his injury. Many of these kids are looking for play for pay situations beyond college and don’t want to risk a future career going all out for a few college games they have left which is completely understandable. Im hoping he gets back in some capacity but playing as hard as he had, Id be surprised.

He’s is getting paid to play!!!

I think this is what it is he’s playing cautious cause he does not want to reinjure it. That is worse sometimes if you are not doing what you normally do that can lead to injury as well. Pitino knows we need the real Smith to reach the level we want to and if he is not going to be that player it’s better to be without him for the time being.
