"We'll play him when he's 100% mentally and physically."
Pitino on Deivon Smith
What does 100 percent mentally mean ?
We know Smith is hurt but , that’s a physical injury . What’s the mental piece ?

Fear of getting reinjured especially with that kind of injury. Pretty normal to meWhat does 100 percent mentally mean ?

Voice of reason chiming in to keep the crazies at bay (at least for the next few minutes).I really need to stop posting...
1)It's coach speak
2) He's fine mentality..it's motivation bc ANY player at any level is going to have trepidation/favor an injury at first and Rick needs him full throttle.
3) You won't see him tomorrow but you will see him before end of season.
Enjoy game tomorrow..work with a Crieghton kid so mixed interest but should be a great game.

Marillayo IMOSince Smith is out tomorrow, will Ayo, Glover or Lefty be first off the bench?
how long did take you to think of this one?Marillayo IMO
Stuff like this just comes to me. Anything I write here is pretty much just spur of the moment whatever hits my brainhow long did take you to think of this one?
Whose sitting then?I'm going with Lefty getting the surprise start.
Wilcher . . . and I'd better not see any stupid body language since he'll still get a ton of minutes and we are 21-4.Whose sitting then?
I think we stay with the same 5 that we’ve been playing since Smith’s initial injury. No reason to change and better chance to not let them dictate the pace.Wilcher . . . and I'd better not see any stupid body language since he'll still get a ton of minutes and we are 21-4.
Probably not at the pre-20:00 mark like I do but I agree.I expect an early wrinkle or two by Pitino.
He’s is getting paid to play!!!The way Smith leaped and defended almost with reckless abandon, I can’t see him getting back to the player he was prior to his injury (s) if he’s concerned about his injury. Many of these kids are looking for play for pay situations beyond college and don’t want to risk a future career going all out for a few college games they have left which is completely understandable. Im hoping he gets back in some capacity but playing as hard as he had, Id be surprised.
I hope it doesn't give you a headache.Stuff like this just comes to me. Anything I write here is pretty much just spur of the moment whatever hits my brain![]()
