SJU vs Pitt Game Thread

I believe that we lost this game because Jamal Branch was not able to play. He tried but his game is based on quickness and cuts and he was not able to do that. We all know that he is our only real point guard and can direct an offense. At the beginning of the second half we were up 31-30 but could not generate any offense. Jamal would have been the difference in this game. Rather than talk about how terrible we are, I am hoping that Jamal will be able to play at his normal level before the season is over. If this happens, I believe we can compete with most teams.

St. John's lost this game because they can't shoot. It's been the same story all season.

If D'Lo is off, the team doesn't stand a chance. He's the only one on the team that can get hot shooting the ball.

Thanks for your posts. There's a reason you don't get trated unfairly because of your age. Except for one poster here, no one cares about your age, just your ability to contribute and enjoy this board as a fan. I think that anyone who watches basketball, and SJU in particular can contri bute something positive here. I really don't care whether someone is older or younger. In fact, the guys older than me here can comment on how good Tony Jackson was, if Alan seiden was as talented as is written about him, what was Kevin Loughery like as a Redmen, etc, etc. I appreciate there insights - would be phenomenal to hear form a poster who knew Looie as a student or even an assistant here. I'd appreciate a current student who know D'Lo or played hs ball with Jakarr and can tell us what they are like off the court. All that matters is loving SJU basketball and coming here to contribute positively. There are enough negative blogs and websites, and actually if you keep it positive you'll make friends here. I have not always been positive, but I've made more friends here than in all my years as a season ticket holder. So, like many, I thank Paul for this site.

I'm curious to find out if that feature works. As I mod I can't block people but if it works man it would make this place more readable if people didn't see what certain others said.

72, it wouldn't be bad if it were a few posts here or there, however it's impossible to skip over a certain posters posts... they litter the board with their garbage and it gets to the point where you can't just skip over it. it's a moot point since the block feature doesn't work....

also this all started with dinkins saying something to me about my post are always negative . i never spoke to him prior to this or wrote him . i told him it was my opinion and if he dont like it to not answer but he stalked e with further messeges. then all of his fraternity brothers soon started to pile on me . please all i said was that we are not making the tourney and we will be in nit. posters disagreed with me and started bashing me saying i whinning but prior to dinkins saying something no one said anything to me he said something and the floodgates opened. ive been a st johns fan for 30 years and yes i get frustrated but ive also seen others say the same thing as i and not get bashed if you dont like the way i say st johns wont make the tourney ask me why i think that ill be happy to tell you but i refuse to be told what i should feel about my team they blew a golden opp with horrid play yesterday and i still believe this is not a tourny team . also i dont see nothing wrong with making the nit its better then nothing in my opinion and i also happen to think we will gain from going thank you and bless all my fellow fans

also this all started with dinkins saying something to me about my post are always negative . i never spoke to him prior to this or wrote him . i told him it was my opinion and if he dont like it to not answer but he stalked e with further messeges. then all of his fraternity brothers soon started to pile on me . please all i said was that we are not making the tourney and we will be in nit. posters disagreed with me and started bashing me saying i whinning but prior to dinkins saying something no one said anything to me he said something and the floodgates opened. ive been a st johns fan for 30 years and yes i get frustrated but ive also seen others say the same thing as i and not get bashed if you dont like the way i say st johns wont make the tourney ask me why i think that ill be happy to tell you but i refuse to be told what i should feel about my team they blew a golden opp with horrid play yesterday and i still believe this is not a tourny team . also i dont see nothing wrong with making the nit its better then nothing in my opinion and i also happen to think we will gain from going thank you and bless all my fellow fans.

Don't even try. If you get in the dog house once in this forum, you stay there forever. This is a very unique place...unlike any other forum ever. I can even see Dateline NBC doing a special on forum bullying using this site as its primary example. I can see it now...Christopher Hansen saying, "...and from what I understand this is a forum with 40 and 50 year olds...how can they be so immature?". Redmen.com = North Korea...there is only one point of view allowed on this site and that POV is pretending everything is glitter and gold at all times without being a realist. The forum is also unforgiving...you can say anything and donate $10 million to the school and they will still find ways to bring you up and gang up on you.
