SJU to Nike

The thing that bother me most is that I believe Nike chose Kap for monetary reasons (how suprising) because they thought it would resonate with the millennial population. If they really believe he sacrificed anything, then we live in a F'd up world. If Nike wants to start a crusade on social injustice, they should start in their own house. .
I get what you're saying but he did sacrifice his livelihood in his chosen profession, as the settlement yesterday indicates that the NFL knows he was blackballed, pardon the put. But I don't think they put him in the ad because of his sacrifice nor to indicate that he has it hard, but rather because he was willing to stand up for something.

Of course I can tell you will keep focusing this on the military who have fuck all to do with any of this so I will only say that the anthem is not a celebration of the great might of our country at war and those who fight for it, but of the greatness of our country overall which happened to begin with a war, which is unfortunately pretty much how most things get started on this planet.
Unfortunately the result of him not playing was not his choice, so I don't think "he" sacrificed anything willingly.

I would be happy to discuss further with you, however, as Mike mentioned in a previous thread, I also do not want to derail this thread into a political debate. I respect your opinion and agree there are MANY issues with the whole anthem issue, but I hope we can both agree that there is no room for any of this in sports.
