SJU Power Forward Portal Targets

It should be really interesting. We have a lot of good players at guard and wing to have too many lineups with two of those guys in it especially given the need for outside shooting.

Agree, I too doubt we may see two of the above on the court at the same time unless Zuby developed a decent outside shooting game.

From reading the reports on Prey, one of his biggest weaknesses, is that he has no outside shot. Don’t see him playing much at the 4, as our team outside shooting is suspect.

our outside shooting is the biggest ? this season. There will be opportunities for guys like Brady to be important pieces this year (hides from larry)

I understand why people think our outside shooting is suspect, and it does require a bit of projection to have confidence in it. But I expect Wilcher, Scott and Dunlap to be good outside shooters. And I expect Smith, Luis and Richmond to be serviceable. It also would not surprise me if Liotopoulous is a good shooter in spots, or if Glover is in the serviceable category.

I think production in that department will be at least in part a function of the time and space the shooters have - if Richmond and Smith are effective delivering the ball to the right guys in the right spots (which I fully expect will be the case) and the interior game is one that opponents are forced to defend (less confident about this, but possible) then I think we will be an adequate three-point shooting team. Don't think we we will be lighting it up from there, but we'll hit our share and keep opponents honest.

Wilcher has a nice jumper. Soft touch on it, I always felt like it was going in when he would shoot last year.

I have tried to keep quiet on Sim, I don't want to fall in the trap of overhyping a kid and then being disappointed later on. I am bullish on him having a productive year if he plays with confidence. He has the tools

Can’t usually tell much from highlights, but it’s pretty obvious watching clips of Prey that the kid is a tremendous athlete. Really excited about his upside longterm.

An attribute of Zuby’s is running the court well at both ends, which Rick really values. It appears Prey does likewise, so that alone is a plus in helping recover in transition on D as well as resulting in valuable easy bucket opportunities on other end hopefully. No matter his total minutes, it appears he will generate quality ones when called upon.

This is wildly overblown. He didn’t get many opportunities playing with grown men and a pair of legit first round young talents at the wing.

He will shoot here.

Agree - his shot looks great in warmups as well.

Now that we have our 4 guy in Prey…… can the Mods end the thread….. too many bad memories. 😎👍
For the re ore of the original transfer portal didn’t get splintered like 50 times Sir Eric would have had his first 400 page thread :):)

I said I did not recall but acknowledged that I could have been wrong. So, if in fact that was disclosed, then that's fine. But, as I said, I think that (the disclosure) could be some revisionist history.
I was unaware Soriano hurt his knee so if it happened, as I am not denying it did, it was pretty much kept under wraps. Hard to criticize a guy’s lateral quickness when he is playing with newly torn meniscus.

Okay, I need some help. What do the third and fourth words mean? And I'm calling a semi Kranmars on you for lack of punctuation. :) ;)

I stick to paragraphs only. I do not have the energy to police all punctuations. Especially when some may want to write their thoughts after an extended post game celebration.
