SJU Power Forward Portal Targets

NIL aside, if either MI or FSU can offer him a true wing spot as opposed to a lot of run at the 4, I think we could be at a distinct disadvantage. Just thinking this through logically and realistically...

I think this is a bit overblown, it's not like his personal playing style will shift into being a back to the basket or stretch 4 should he come here and play "the 4."

The position will change based on who occupies it. Watkins, should he join, becomes probably the leading scorer on the team, if not 2nd at worst. He's going to be a guy that wants the ball in his hands and get buckets. He's not going to be a guy who spaces the floor and stands in the corner waiting to shoot 3s, nor will he be posting dudes up. So I think the idea of being in the 4 man role doesn't hold water here. Him and RJ and Scott will all be wings that play the three and four spots but not be your traditional power forwards.

Thanks Dave. Might be moot anyway if the rumblings are correct. Now we prey...

Asked Zach if the buzz about Ruben Prey holds any water.
He said "Not much."

I must have misunderstood, thought in a previous post the visit was today.
Sorry for the repeat, but how about signing Qin Pang and develop him? Following the Providence plan of signing HS players and supplementing with the Portal. I get that this may cause scoffing responses, however there are benefits to bringing in a local player who has the size and potential to become a solid contributor under Coach Rick’s leadership. Plus it creates goodwill in the local basketball community. There are seemingly no negatives.

Yeah, I thought so too.
I asked Zach if Statff is still looking to fill the PF slot:

He said:

"No bother. Yea, they know they need to add size. They will get someone."

"I think they will go international. Don't think they're out on Watkins, but feels like Michigan gets him."

No

So anyone on uconn if Hurley really goes to LA?
I can be making stuff up, but wasn't there a rumor that we wanted Samson Johnson last year? Obviously, the guy that Pitino should call Mike Repole about -- literally right now before its even official -- is Alex Karaban....

But obviously way too premature.

With Karaban deciding to return, I find it hard to believe Hurley would do it. Maybe that’s a stretch to believe but he seems like the guy where that stuff matters. Money is money though and you did mention he talked nba jobs in an interview.

Sorry everyone.. go get Watkins
