SJU Portal Targets

From what I am told Lee is definitely in play for SJU, Pitino loves him but Florida is a real player.

With DJ it is going to be interesting. With Darius Acuff coming in not sure where the minutes will be for both. I think Cal thought Wagner would have a big enough year that he would declare after this year. I don't think for a second he thought he was getting more than 2 years from DJ. I think the NIL is there for both but not sure if DJ thinks his NBA prospects improve sharing duties with Acuff.

part of me prefers DJ. think he would dominate v big east guards. would be happy with either of course!

Solid complementary players are a key to winning. Can't have a team of alphas. That's my only concern with Lee, will he fit as a complementary player if we land the players mentioned. But, Lee is an NBA level talent, and I'd take him in a heartbeat. RP will figure it out.

he may need to try underhand FTs at this point

Clearly Pitino thinks he can just coach shooters into playing that kind of defense but I am far from convinced of that. Dillon Mitchell changes that equation all by himself and restores a lot of defensive presence that I think would otherwise be missing.

Or Pitino knows he can't just coach a team of shooters how to be great defenders and always had a player like Mitchell (even perhaps Mitchell) included in his portal plans.

Only one stat but Lee has a 37.3% assist rate, which is 19th in the country (on a subpar team). For context, Kam Jones was 14th with 38.1%, Cadeau 13th.

Kadary was 81st with 29.4%. Deivon was 230th and 24%

DJ Wagner, 18.9% -- 489th in the country.

Just think Lee will be a perfect floor general for this squad on offense.

The odd thing about Mitchell is that he doesn’t have good length. His wingspan is 6’10. Tugler for comparison has an absurd 7’6.
 
I don't follow this closely enough, can someone explain the dozens of Twitter accounts tweeting about the #theMegaHaul over the past day? Most likely they're just referring to the fact we have a lot of NIL money to spend this weekend, but unsure if I've missed anything from a legit source.

Just people having fun on Twitter likely in reference to the possibility of landing Sellers, Mitchell, Jackson all on the same weekend.

Definitely a good comparison defensively. As you say Augmon a far better shooter, 68% from the line and 42% from three in college although on small number of threes.

Pump the brakes boys!

While Mitchell may be all that and a Kit Kat, Stacey Augmon was national defensive poy three years in a row at a time when college talent was leaps and bounds better than what it is today.
