From Evan Miya:
Saint John's is getting the best player in the portal.
Richmond's offensive value is really high, and his defensive impact is outrageously good. As the bonafide leader of Seton Hall, the PG averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He only made 44% of his field goals but the degree of difficulty on many of those shots was extremely high. He also had the 6th best Defensive BPR in the country. Seton Hall was a completely different team with him on the floor, 8 points per 100 possessions better offensively and 12 PP100 better defensively (+20 PP100 overall).
Whatever spacing issues there may be, and it sounds like those will be a concern, will be more than made up for on defense. In a 70-possession game, Richmond made Seton Hall, on average, 14 points better last year. Easily our best team since 99-2000.
