The clip you posted of the transition was bad bad. And it’s not stand alone.

In the half court tho, in terms of a help defense I would disagree. Understands help, understands positioning and uses his length well. Though I’m sure there are examples, like for anyone, where he is not doing this.

He does understand help and I’ll give him that for sure. It leads to him being able to poke the ball away at times (i.e the steal on Ashworth 30 seconds left against Creighton)

However I also watch him quite a bit on/off ball, when he’s off the ball and gets put through a couple screens, just keep an eye on him. He’s very lethargic in getting where he needs to go a lot of the time.

And on ball, don’t even get me started, he gets cooked because he’s flat footed and just waves his arms around to give off the impression he’s ready to defend. But as soon as the offensive player hits their first step of the drive, most of the time they’re already by Kadary. I count those possessions when determining if he’s getting to where he needs to

Smith is the only one that is a ++ athlete and only good on-ball defender against PGs and combos. Scott and Wilcher are so good when it's clicking. Prey just hasn't been getting the minutes he should be from an outside eye. Smith needs to attack the basket way more in secondary transition.

I agree with your rankings except I would flip Deivon and Kadary. Interestingly, your list is the only one so far that excludes Vince. I don't necessarily disagree with your decision.
