SJU Basketball Media Day

So Pitino will be putting Hopkins' brain a blender this season? That would not have been my first guess.
Reading between lines, I interpreted that whole thing as "Bryce has been good, but he's focused on fitting in and we want him to stand out." Bryce himself yesterday said he'd be fine coming off the bench. Too selfless.

Believe he played for Malloy in high school. Check out his videos on X Pros don’t let you play in their games or in tournament team if you are selfish or can’t play.

Peter Vescey of the Post. could ball. Played regularly with pros in Harlem
Pete Vescey (far right) with Billy Paultz and Dr. J up at Rucker Park in the 70s. Doesn't look like he was playing here, but he did play a lot of street ball.

Peter in high school was a bench guy at Molloy on the Billy Lawrence led squad. I chat w him often and his hoops recall and knowledge is encyclopedic.

I worked for a service in the early 1970s that provided faxing services for sports reporters. The fax machines were not all that common then. Pete was a good guy to work with.
