I did not vote. I have no idea what the AD does or how he runs the athletic dept as a whole.

A real AD acts like the CEO if the Athletic Department. Every decision concerning athletics at that institution comes out of the office of the AD. That includes budgets, staffs, facilities, schedules, and any incidentals that have any relation to athletics. If a person is the AD of a school and lacks the power to conduct business in those areas, he should get a different title, because he really is not the director.

The other programs are just as mediocre as men's basketball. It's just that no one cares that gets them off the hook. OK, soccer has a championship and fencing is pretty good. Still, no one cares.

The sports department is somewhat better under Monasch. It had been a disaster since the NCAA became the tournament of choice over the NIT. Was he behind the killing of the men's track team...swim teams...diving teams? Can the sports department be much better? I don't know how much the school wants to spend. Probably not much, considering Monasch is still around.

One strike against Monasch...he NEVER should have kept the compliance people on the payroll after so many of our athletes failed to qualify. The clubhouse mentality reeks at Carnesecca...and if Monasch's responsible, he has to go.

Just to give you guys a perspective on how dysfunctional our program is: Lavin and Monasch did not have a meaningful conversation in over 2 years. THEY DO NOT SPEAK.
Does anyone remember reading or watching Lavins quotes. I bet one thing. You wont find a reference or a thank you to Monasch.
