Seton Hall (UBS), Sun., Feb. 18, 5p, FS-1

Seton Hall may have topped out when they had that 28-0 run against us. They haven't been playing nearly as well, since.

But, with strength at point guard (Richmond) and center (Bediako), they could cause a lot of problems for us.

They're as bad of a 3 point shooting team, as we are.

i just want it to stop jim halpert GIF

Why bother with the rest of the season.
Every game is a repeat, halftime lead then end of game loss.

I'm done being tortured.

Like an idiot though I'll be back for one last hope, winning the B.E Tournament.
We know it won't happen, but we'll be hoping for a miracle somehow.

It just eats me up. How do you start B.E play 4-1 then in real games (I can't include DePaul) we're 1-7 since? That's a Pitino coached team we're talking about, not a CMA team.

If you're looking something up then you gotta include DePaul. Is 2-7 his worst ever stretch in a 9 game period, or maybe tied his worst stretch going 2-7?

He had a 1-9 stretch his first year at Providence, although there is a non D-1 game missing from this schedule.

They were 3-9 in the Big East, before winning their last 4 games. The BE schedule they had that year, was similar to the one we have this year. They didn't really face the bottom feeders until the very end.

While this game may be meaningless with regards to selection Sunday, it better not be so to our team. Two losses to a local rival would be devastating to this program for both casual fan support and local recruiting. I recall prior to the season how many posters claimed that the Hall was in trouble. Void of talent, NIL money etc. Of course with Pitino and all our great recruits they were not in our league……. Till they pounded us in Jersey.

Struggling to find the excitement for this one. First game this year where my optimism/belief just isn't there.

Really sad that another St. John's season is playing out this way.

For those on "The Curse of Jack's parents" watch, I am watching this game alone, in my living room, in the dark, as I take repeated swigs of beer until I am intoxicated enough that I forget which team Wusu is on so when Hall wins I feel like we won

See you then

My predictions still holding true-
Marquette- L
Providence- L

Now let's see:
Seton Hall- W (the irony here is that playing at UBS will help us, SHU is big with crowd - I doubt many of their fans haul it out there)
@ Georgetown- L (will play us tough to narrowly get the upset)
Creighton- W (rebound game and Creighton is not as scary at MSG)
@ Butler- L (we aren't beating them at their house)
@ DePaul- W (worst team in college basketball in years, win by walking on court)
Georgetown-W (end the season strong at Home)

Bottom-line- we are NOT a second-half team. Several of these losses against decent teams are from collapsing in second-half. Multiple theories for this- either they figure us out or we are just gassed because we do way too much pressing. I also think much of these grad plus players just are not Big East caliber and it shows. NIT can be beneficial for Brady and Simeon. We aren't making NCAAs unless crazy run in Big East Tournament. With a team that struggles with conditioning as it is, I don't have my hopes up.

Creighton away I agree is not as formidable as in Omaha, but I think they beat us. They are the best three point shooting team in transition and we are a horror defending that. Throw in three future pros on Creighton, I just can’t see a SJ win despite their short bench.
