@Seton Hall, Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30p, FS-1

No way we are favored in this game on the road. My guess is we will be 3-4 point dogs. As we should be. And then the line will be moved with more bets placed on us but we will still end up slight dogs.
I trust you on the spreads more then anyone and since I don't bet St. John's games I really don't care that much. That said if you can get 3-4 points with St. John's I would jump on it because even being on the road this game seems pickem to me as we have been good on the road so far and will only get better as we play more home games at MSG with opposing fans.

I'm not sure a game 30 miles from our campus where there will be a significant number of Johnny fans in attendance is going to affect the line all that much. Would be shocked if we weren't slight favorites.

I was going to post that if you don't mind going to Newark for an 8:30 game on a Tuesday night there are plenty of tickets at reasonable prices.

Here we are complaining about attendance at the garden. That nobody goes to Barclays or Belmont. And you are gonna say that Vegas says hey the Johnnie fan is gonna flood Jersey to see the game and take away home court advantage??? Ok.

This game is more important than you know. I don’t believe that the Hall will be anywhere near the top 3 when all is said and done. Perhaps the Johnnies will but I think we finish with the Hall, Nova, Xavier and PC in that 4 to 7 spot and will be fighting for a Dance invite amongst that group.

Since we did ourselves no favors in our non conference schedule, we will probably have to finish in that 5th spot and up to get an invite. Beating teams in the group above is necessary to get there, while holding serve with all teams at home.
Agreed Silly, we need this game , no doubt. If we lose this game and then have to play Marquette at home , we could be looking at three loses in a row. If we lose this game then the season just becomes same’ol , same’ol as it’s been for the last 20+ years. Thats how important this game is for us. Seton Hall is on fire right now and they’re playing at home. I have a very queasy feeling about this game. It can change the entire trajectory of our season.

Every single analytics site has us as either slight favorites or a true pickem. This is generally what sportsbooks use to generate their opening line barring a massive injury. It's fairly uncommon an opener would deviate that far off the computers without an All American level player being out
