@Seton Hall, Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30p, FS-1

Seton Hall has beaten some tough teams including UConn. While I believe we have the ability to win (will have to play better then against Creighton) I won’t be a walk in the park and Soriano will have to dominate.

Seton hall has one of the best coaches in the country. They are an average basketball team that is doing great things because of coaching. We will have to play much better then we did today to win this game.

I think he’s doing a great job and for the first time in forever I’m never even thinking about getting out coached

Mr Miyagi would always kick Karate kids ass even if he was 90

Oddly nobody was worried about Kadary an iota until this season. He’s come a long way. Always talented but is now really feeling it.
It’s just unequivocally his team now. We should underestimate him at our own risk. He and our old pal Addie-Wusu will harry our guards so we have to be ready for hands always slapping at the ball and those guys jumping into passing lanes.

That being said if there was EVER a team that we should force feed Joel against it’s the Hall.

These games are always big in my orbit because for the last twenty years I have had standing bets against the Hall supporters near me. We bet on both games, who finishes better in the big east, who does better in the BET, and who does better in the NCAA tournament. It’s cost me a small fortune. I’d like to get a little something back.

No excuses, playing for the top of the conference here. Well coached, tough team. Def can beat but gotta put together a good game.
Usually, I’d say we’d benefit from a game that was loosely called.

SHU however is very physical and prone to taking risk on defense both guards aggressive go after the ball and Bediako and Hutch will try to block your shot even if it means going through the shooter.

We still should have a big advantage in the paint and on the glass. SHU relays on heavily on their guards to pick up the slack rebounding.

Don’t underestimate them like I did all season. They are a good team. They have veteran guards similar to providence. They’re fine getting into the 70’s. So we must also.

Richmond does it all. He rebounds, scores and passes. This year it’s all clicking for him. Typical good veteran ncaa guy. Davis, Dawes and wusu all experienced guys who you have to defend.

They don’t do anything great but they do everything well. Testament to the coach who centered the team when it could’ve spiraled early on.

Alleyne and Luis vs Richmond. Richmond is a physical guy so we gotta match it.

This game is more important than you know. I don’t believe that the Hall will be anywhere near the top 3 when all is said and done. Perhaps the Johnnies will but I think we finish with the Hall, Nova, Xavier and PC in that 4 to 7 spot and will be fighting for a Dance invite amongst that group.

Since we did ourselves no favors in our non conference schedule, we will probably have to finish in that 5th spot and up to get an invite. Beating teams in the group above is necessary to get there, while holding serve with all teams at home.
