Seton Hall (MSG), Sat., Mar. 1, 2:15p, CBS

As I said a few weeks ago for Depaul, Butler, Seton Hall every game against us is their Super Bowl. Their chance to walk off the floor with their head held super high. For us these are trap games. Seton Hall had additional ammo with all the disrespect heaped their way by SJU fans, notwithstanding that they just beat Uconn who if healthy, and Karaban seems to have found his stroke again, and Uconn can be a top 10 team.
Aaron Scott does not show up big in the box score like RJ, Zuby or Kadary , but boy is he ever a vital part of our team and his absence is huge.
In spite of our less than stellar play we won.
Our record is great , we are undefeated at home, the Garden has been sold out and our attendance this season has been great. Let’s rest up for Marquette and try to win again on the road.
And please no silly talk of transfers, it is shocking that that is what some of you wish to discuss after such a great season to date. So Wilcher made a silly play or two today big deal. RJ made dozens of poor plays last season and look at the outstanding player he is today. That is why Pitino and the players watch film, their poor habits, plays will be corrected.
Congrats everyone.

Congratulations to the team, Coach Pitino, the staff and everyone at St. John’s responsible for this amazing resurgence!! It doesn’t matter how we won today , we won. That’s all that matters. It was a truly great accomplishment considering that we were picked to finish 5th. This week off comes at the perfect time. I would limit the starters minutes against Marquette to the greatest extent possible. The game means nothing. The team looked tired today. The constant grinding every single day to achieve what they have achieved has worn them down some it seems. We need to be at full strength for the Big East and NCAA Tournaments. That’s where the focus has to be now. Big East Champs!!! Congratulations, rest up and let’s get after it March 13th!!!

My wife and I decided to go out to dinner after the game and just got in now so I haven't read the thread. Must have been some really worried folks on here during the game. My wife and I both felt less stress than watching the game on TV. Being there does the trick. When the game was over, we hugged, and both said it was hard to believe we were 40 years younger when this last occurred.

Our thanks to Coach Pitino, the assistant coaches and the players for a wonderful season (that continues). The best home season in our 45 years of having tickets plus the 7 years prior when would get student tickets.

Fwiw, someone who claimed to be very close to Sim said on a spaces last week that he wants to return and he’s all about St. John’s. Who knows.

Rick in the Repole interview said he spoke to him about body language. Clearly ongoing issue all season. But his improvement has been undeniable. I see more upside now than ever before.

Either way, I trust Rick to figure it out

Never forget Carmine ( just kidding with Carmine that’s my buddy ! )

Agreed. Hope for the best.

I wouldn’t play Zuby Aaron RJ Kadary or Deivon much at all v. Marquette.
Why? Aaron was stretching out on the floor with a trainer pregame and was wearing compression leg sleeves on BOTH legs today. Kadary and RJ have groin issues. Deivon was rubbing his right shoulder towards the end of the game. Zuby took a beating today and was also limping.
Play Lefty Prey Ayo Vince Sim and J Cole the majority, if not all of the minutes. The game is meaningless. Go Johnnies. It’s all about the BE and NCAA tournaments.
One last thing is that Ayo played great today. He is now integral to our post season success.
Seeding. Seeding. Seeding. What regional and where are huge. Huge! Far from meaningless.
