Seton Hall - 2nd Game

You just can't play like this with an experienced team supposedly fighting for a tournament spot; sorry to all you cheerleaders. We may very well win I get that and everything but come on, this is just terrible, terrible basketball.

Get your negativity in now before we open this up to double digits.

Yeah right, that still doesn't change the wat we are playing. Like I've told you before I comment on what I see not what I hope happens. I never said we won't win but that doesn't change the uninspired, uneven, ragged display to date.

You are a clown. There is nothing about this game from either side that is uninspired. Both teams are busting their asses. Are f*cking kidding? The one thing not up for debate for either team tonight is hustle/inspiration. Wow, you are a jaded, negative man.

Uninspired means more than playing hard; it means playing focused and intelligently but I will cut you a break because intelligence is obviously not something you are familiar with. As I have told you before ignore my posts you are in way over your head. There is nothing negative about my posts; it is what any person REALLY familiar with the game of basketball can see. It also has nothing to do with how I am rooting HARD. I praise them when they play well and criticize when it is otherwise; it is called objectivity; comes with intelligence.

I'll be sure to notify Columbia that my degree must be a fraud because intelligence is something I am not capable of. I guess I should send back my law degree as well and notify the bar that I couldn't have possibly passed.

Up 11 right now. About to move into 5th place in the Big East, top 35 RPI, projected to be in just our fourth NCAA tournament this century, about to be 18-9 (best start in 15 years) all seniors graduated early...is there anything positive you can say? ANYTHING?

Well here is the thing, you may have a degree from Columbia and a law degree to boot and legitimate congragulations if you do. But frankly I have a lot of life experience and have met Ivy league graduates and lawyers I wouldn't let wash my car. I am not saying you are one because I really don't know you but on this board you come across to me as an arrogant braggart, quick to criticize those that disagree with you and quicker to brag when one of your million predictions comes true (as it did today; I hope you bet heavy giving the points.) Frankly, and as I said prior I don't know you and could very well be wrong, but you strike me as a rich mans kid. Now, I know you are a passionate fan and I respect that but there is more than one way to root for a team and carry and express yourself as such and you don't seem to get that; if this were your site you would want to have 147 posters posting the same thing over and over. So forgive me if I question your intelligence. There is a scene in Good Will Hunting where Robin Williams calls out Matt Damon for having amazing book knowledge and little real life knowledge, the point being there is intelligence and there is intelligence.

Let's get back to the game and away from the egos.

There were times we looked sloppy , but we did have good ball movement creating open shots. It was nice to see Lavin give Harrison some rest. We actually looked good w him on the bench. I could never understand playing an injured player 40 min a game. Lavin did a good job today giving CO and DLO PT, but not overdoing it. Greene and Jorden had good games. But, Dom takes the MVP again. He should be first team BE IMO. We got our must win today. Rest the guys tomorrow and let's take advantage of our home court Mon.

Good job by our guys today. Of course we need to take care of business against Xavier on Monday. Hope they enjoy tonight but get back to work tomorrow. One thing I have learned the last few years is take nothing for granted. The Dance is still within their reach. Go St. John's!

There was a time in the second when we had a two point win. I said to myself that branch better do something quick cause lavin is about to pull him for the remainder of the game. He followed it with a fantastic drive and kick to Phil for a big three and then a two and three of his own. He was the catalyst for that run that put the game away.

Can we please go back to branch being our 6th man?

Huge win for the team. Congrats.. And so glad I was way wrong on this game.. Will be at Xavier game at garden and will be rooting in the msg club section dressed in red!! Good chance now at .500 in BE, and maybe a win or 2 in the tourney and we should be dancing,

Jordan took a lot of shots, but had 6 boards and 6 assists. He made 2 silly plays early in the 2ed half and then played good clean hoops down the stretch. Kudos to CO for toughing it up. Branch was a big help to the rest of the seniors, who I thought all played hard. Dom is a horse.

I was thinking the same thing at that point. It was like having money in the bank....knowing he'd come off the bench and give us what we needed.

He needs to shoot more. He is awesome when he shoots in rhythm. Pretty shot. When he misses it's usually a bad, forced shot just to shoot. The staff has to stay on him to make him take more shots and more takes.

Congratulations and much love to our Seniors for closing out the game the way they did!! They closed out a must win they way an NCAA Tournament team should. OPn to Xavier Monday night!

Ok , great great NEEDED win. Obviously Dom played amazing. Obekpa, Jordan, and Harrison had solid games, but I loved PGIV's game today. Quiet assassin. 20 points with 4 3s. A lot of those 3s were rally killers too. Overall, great win, exciting game, and well coached by Lav. Maybe we need Mullin at the games more often. Go Johnnies!!!!!!

Good win, the guys needed to take care of business and they did. Man, Whitehead was horrible. Selfish, selfish player. Not hard to see how he's killing the chemistry on that team.

Just returned, very good effort. Toughened up and played great when needed. Agree Branch was important. Balanced scoring is impressive and no one really forced anything (except Jordan a few times, but overall a good game by him too). I like these guys a lot. Just a player of 2 from being REAL good. Let's lock up a bid over the next 2 weeks and see what happens.

It was GREAT to see Chris M at the game today, but very surprised he was not already in SJU Hall of Fame.

Very good and much needed win. Loved some of Jordans passes and Dom had that awesome block in the 2nd half which seems to be the norm.

Glad these kids go out with a win at Carnesseca. BUT we NEED to win our 2 MSG games and win an away game so let's smack down Xavier again on monday.

On a Seton Hall note Delgado is one of my favorite players in the Big East. Kid is a beast on the boards

I could be wrong but I think the announcer said that Zendon was an Assistant Coach with the team. Does he have any official title?

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, when I saw him standing in the team huddle during a TO. Paultzman answered that Zendon is on staff as -- and I think I'm remembering this correctly -- a coaching intern.

D'lo was at the scorers table to come in for Branch. Branch made that pass to Phil and Lav was smart enough to call D'lo back to the bench. Branch then hit a few big shots.
