Dissapointed Gibbs not playing, was looking forward to a good old BE elbow fight between him and Obekpa.. BTW back in the day I don't think either guy would have even been called for a foul.
With seton halls lineup, they are going to take a lot of bad shots and miss a lot of shots. If we can hang in on the boards, we will be fine in this one if we can score.
Maybe rysheed comes to play because he's going up against IW, maybe DLo will play better.
Last game at CA for these seniors. And it is an important one. Can't lose this.

Not sure how you can expect anything with this team. Might win by 20, lose by 20. Felix could start at center, Jordan might miss the game or hit 10 threes. Walkon might start, Obekpa could steal the t shirt gun and shoot someone from SHU in the face. Anything and everything a possibility for this team.
No there's one thing you can expect from this team: DLo, Phil, Dom, and Jamal will give it their all out there at CA for the final time

We need this game in the worst way, and we also NEED to come out of this one with no more injuries. We must be healthy or Xavier and GT at home. Those games will most likely define our season.
If Whitehead played last game we probably win. He's a chemistry killer.
The only guard that scares me on SH is Gibbs. He kills us...and he's not playing.
The only other player on the roster that scares me is Delgado, but I think Dom will come out with a chip on his shoulder and we have a new weapon to keep him off the glass: Alibegovic. He inexplicably didn't play at all in the first match up.

Gibbs is not playing becuase he actually tried to kill someone. I think Whitehead getting raw deal. Would you rather be a chemistry killer or Ryan Achdiacccco-however you spell his name killer ?
If the question is who I would rather have on my team, then Archie all day long! I don't care how good Whitehead is or what he projects to be in the future. Gibbs doesn't have the NBA future, but he was SH's best player. Any shot that Whitehead takes instead of Gibbs is a win for us.
The most talented kid is not always the best fit for a team. Sampson could go on to score 20,000 points in the NBA and it won't change the fact that he was a chemistry killer for us last season.

We should destroy Seton Hall on Saturday but there is one aspect of this game that worries me. From all accounts, there was an upperclassmen/underclassmen divide among the team. Now with their two most vocal upperclassmen out of the picture, I'm worried about seeing an inspired effort by the freshman in the "let's show them we don't need them" kind of way.
Plus, you add in the kick in the nuts St. John's gives Seton Hall each year by not giving them a Garden game and that's more motivation than I would like from a team.

So, TXRedman, you're telling me that if I put down $10K on St. John's and we lose, you will cover the bet, yes? Because that's what a "100% money back guarantee" means. Please confirm, so I can get my bet down in time. I hate the Hall and desperately want a win, but with a guaranteed $10K riding on the game, well ... B)
I think we put better talent on the floor Saturday. That said, I am concerned about the injuries. Keep in mind we are in the middle of 5 games in 12 days. Or, more immediately, 3 games in 6 days
Not ideal for a thin, banged-up roster. We really need these next two games. If possible, I am a proponent of sitting CO and minimizing DLO's minutes on Saturday.

If a team of freshmen come into your building and you have all upperclassmen and lose there is something wrong and they don't deserve to be in the NCAA tournament discussion.
Plus it is a revenge game. Every player on our team should watch the New Year's Eve game over and over. SHU was extra animated after a number of those ridiculous 3s they made.
Have pride and go smack these guys around from the get-go. Making it where D-Lo and Obekpa can get some 2nd half rest heading into the all-important Xavier clash Monday night.
