Seth Davis: "Will SJU Be Relevant Again" Response

Pretty thorough write-up. I do have a problem with Davis stating the stipend was legal, and then later referring to it as a "racket".

I remember players getting cars to make their commute to school.
Caddy, Mustang, Camaro..

Agree wholeheartedly on the transfer front, and I expect to see big dividends next year with the two kids we have coming in. I also expect us to continue to be a big player on that front because of Matt A and what he helped do at Iowa St.

After the Jarvis Elite 8 team and sweet 16 we have not been really relevant to the outside world. I will always root for SJU until we are really relevant but until then will also follow MSU and KU as I have connections to these schools/places. I was not a fan of getting rid of Lavin but I am also certain that Mullin is not a quitter and will work hard and not give up until we have a winning program, unless of course there is another coaching change that is not due to his actions. Mullin needs another 2 years (not including this season). To be honest our roster is mostly at best Division 2 players.

We have div 1 players. The problem is our players aren't that elite that they should be starters as Frosh or Sophs w the exception of Ponds and Lovett. Our roster is made up of 3 and 4 star talent. Next year will be telling, but we need another big. Hopefully Zack qualifies or Matt reels in someone else.

yes and we've got a few one dimensional guys but that isn't always a bad thing if you have a balanced roster. The balance is tipping in our favor but it still isn't there yet.

I believe that there are still some enjoyable games ahead of us this season. The team is relevant to me and that is all that matters right now.

Over the last few weeks we have started to become relevant again. All of a sudden people have taken notice. I'll stop short of saying we've turned a corner, but it just goes to show how quickly things can turn around. Haven't felt this excited about one of our teams in a very long time. Will enjoy this run for as long as it lasts. Go Johnnies!!!!!
