In the daily news article, Lavin called Dom a unicorn.

Normally, this is the type of comment that would make me want to break something on my desk. But in the spirit of community and with the excitement we all have for tomorrow's game... I'm going to let it slide.

Dom is unique. And all the seniors will certainly be missed.

That's exactly how I took the comment.

If that makes one want to break something, I would say that the person is completely misinterpreting the comment. But that's just me.

I was giving him the unique part.
I'm trying not to let this bother me Beast! But, mythical? legendary? not soo much...
Not to mention the whole notion of unicorns is a big ruse.

Just need two more nicknames for Dom from Lavin to break world record for most nicknames bestowed on one man by another man.

Come on man, you're a really good guy, but try having to speak to the media nearly every day in season and see how much criticism you get for every single comment when some fans aren't happy with where the team is.

There are two main problems with the Pointer nicknames.

2. They are not cool! Costco, The Frying Pan, The Unicorn? Hopefully if Dom makes it big in the NBA none of Lavin's nicknames stick or he will be stuck with the lamest poster in the history of the NBA.

1. He goes by Sir Dom. With that kind of name you do not need a nickname!

Wright, JT3, Cooley, Mack, etc all speak to the media just as often, and yet they don't call their players ridiculous names.

If Dom gets a nickname in the NBA (assuming he makes it there!), I guarantee you it will be given by someone on the team where he ends up playing. His nickname will NOT be one bestowed on him by his college coach or college team-mates.

Plenty of things out there to gripe about. This isn't one.

Vandy coach said he'll kill his player.

You really have an issue with nicknames? Give it a rest for awhile.
 
Sir Dom "the Unicorn" Pointer sounds like someone who works bachelorette parties.

I'm looking forward to his first NBA dunk contest when he comes out with a horn grafted to his head.
