San Francisco State

Sanchez, Sampson, Pointer, Harrison, Jordan.

I like it The coach can bring in a whole new 5 Keep the players happy as well as the fans.
Feel we are in for a special yr. Wisconsin opener will not be easy but we definitely have the horses to beat them and anyone else
Looking forward to a competitive basketball season and making the big dance

I think Branch starts over Jordan early on but, otherwise, I think you're right.

Branch brings such a stability factor to the offense when he's on the court, I think that's where his best impact is. Jordan, who appears to have explosive offensive ability would likely be a better impact player coming off the bench than Branch. I love the idea of your best (or one of your best) offensive players coming off the bench. Think Havlicek for the Celts, or Cazzie Russell for the Knicks. They can come in an be game changers. I don't see Branch as subbing in and having that type of impact. That being said, if Jordan's talent is simply too immense to keep off the court, he will start.

Jordan starts from day 1, regardless of his freshman status. If that means Branch or Pointer doesn't, so be it. I have advocated a starting 5 of Sampson, Sanchez, Branch, Harrison and Jordan..Branch and Pointer will not be in the starting line up together IMHO.

All other combos can be advanced by those who favor certain players over another but, Jordan starts.. He didn't come here to circulate into a rotation. He's a impact player.. He's the difference maker over last year's squad and will be key to the team's rise this season..

Lav loves hooper and what his basketball iq brings to the game...pointer should be our starting 3 but don't be surprised

Its an exhibition game. Does it really matter? Perfect time to actually start Hooper and work on things.

FWIW, San Francisco State was 16-12 last year. Fell in the semis of their league tournament.

They play in the same conference as Sonoma State (who we played last year) and Humboldt State (who we play next Monday). Last year, they swept Sonoma (winning by 14 at home, and by 2 on the road), and split with Humbolt (both teams won by double digits at home).

Just to give you an idea.

Yes.

Would not be surprised to see
Jordan
Dlo
Hooper
Sampson
Sanchez

We're going to see at least 10 different starting lineups this year... I won't be surprised by anything.

When we play Syracuse and their zone defense you can expect to see a lot of Hooper

Less than twenty four hours to tip off. Should be interesting to see how they split the minutes. Have to save some for Obekpa when he gets back.

My wife's alma mater . . . and I suspect that most of the basketball team is her height.
