San Fran Game Reception

Toronado is definitely on the divier side of things, so if cleanliness is more of a concern than interesting beer selection, then another choice may be in order. Pretty sure they have Pliny the Elder there, which seems to be a rare find and which beer fans seem to love.

I dont mind dives. As long as the beer is good and the place isnt wall to wall crowded which on a tuesday I doubt.

It got great reviews on yelp

Also for fans bringing younger kids and making it a long weekend, Saturday's holiday parade in downtown Oakland is fun. And the Jack London tree lighting is tomorrow.

Exploratorium is fun. Went there with college buddies while under the influence a long time ago and had a blast.

Are you staying in SF or the East Bay? Raiders/GS are in the East Bay.

What about solo Moose? Where should I go even though the weather is gonna suck.

I'm staying in San Fran but gonna trek out to Raiders and GS.

If you are a baseball history fan, check out Lefty O'Douls in the Union sqaure area. Tons of old photos adorn the walls, including DiMaggio and Monroe wedding license. O'Doul was a pretty good hitter in his own right, leading the NL in hitting at .398 in 1929 and setting the still standing NL record for hits at 254. More famously, he managed Joe DiMaggio when he played for the Oakland Seals, and knowing the Yankees were going to acquire DiMag, taught him to pull the ball down the line to avoid the death valley expanses of Yankee Stadium. It's an old time bar, with a steam table, like some of the MSG area bars. Pretty inexpensive to grab some food and check out the dog eared photos on the walls.

I would have loved to make this trip, unfortunately will be in Las Vegas on a 6 day business trip.

Too bad the San Francisco Bulls are out of town or you could have seen them too. If you are staying downtown, leave to go eat in a different part of town, especially if you like Asian food.

How about any suggestions for 'must' eats at the Raiders game? I am a big foodie and always look for stadium specialities if they have such.

A friend of mine always gets ribs there, but I've never had them, nor do I know if he gets them from a specific vendor.

I don't know the east bay very well but when I travel, I like to find BBQ joints and try them out. I made a point to try out B-Side in Oakland but when I got there at 6pm it was closed. So I've heard it is memorable but get there early.

This is NOT right near O.co but relatively close in Oakland.

in SF I used to go to Big Nate's BBQ which was owned by Nate Thurmond (NBA). His son was usually running the counter but haven't been their since they sold it last year. It may be just as good or better? For whatever reason my experience is that the better BBQ is found in sketchy neighborhoods and this fits the bill...

Be watching the game on tv-better hear all you guys cheering for the johnnies.

So lets pick the place for post game drinks.

Is Tornado's cool with everyone ?

flight from laguardia was canceled this morning due to mechanical problems. They put us on a 7am flight to Atlanta. Our connecting plane got delayed and then when we were on the runway the fuel pump malfunctioned. We had to go back to the gate and wait for another plane. Literally just got to Sonoma. Been up since 3am.

We better win tuesday:)
