Thanks Moose. Nut, could you provide a little info on what saw with Rysheed? Remind you of anyone? Anything stick out? Speed? Pass first kid? Scoring PG?

Can't see him coming here now that Branch has enrolled and has 3 1/2 yrs of eligibility remaining

Actually he has 4 1/2 years of eligibility remaining. Just kidding (and trying to confuse) he'll only have 2 1/2 years left when he takes the court next December.

Rysheed's class of 13. His Frosh year will be Branch's Jr year. Do you think there's a lot of upper level teams he's going to be able to sign with that DON'T have a PG on their roster?

3 1/2.
He'll still be a freshman (eligibility wise) in December.

Sorry Tom but that is wrong. He played in enough games this year to exhaust his freshman eligibility. It's not like he's redshirting or anything. He doesn't get two years to play a freshman's number of games. He'll be a sophomore next year. Junior in 13/14 when Jordan is a Frosh.

uggh -- here we go again. Suggest you check out Johnny Jungle thread where this was debated at great length. Branch will be a Soph next year with 2.5 years of eligibility

I know, I posted the best explanation on that thread too but didn't want to type that much today. ; )

He didn't play in the second semester, which just started.
Why did he lose an entire semester of eligibility?

Because eligibility is measured in seasons, not semesters. You get 5 seasons to play in 4 and that's all or part of 4 unless there's special circumstances. He's played in 11 games in 11/12 (frosh year), he'll play in 20ish games in 12/13 (soph year) and in full seasons 13/14 and 14/15 (jr/sr year), that's all or part of 4 seasons. If he had played a full season at A&M and then transferred in the summer obviously his sit out year would be all of next season but he'd have all or part of three more seasons of eligibility.

I did see him play at Baruch on MLK day vs Lincoln. Mixed feelings. Seemed more of scorer than a true PG, but hard to really make a distinction. He had nice size (legit 6'3) and great speed. Overall a top notch athlete. Transition is his game, he's great in the open court using his athleticism to finish or looking for others. Didn't look great in the halfcourt that day, seemed a little overwhelmed by Lincoln defense. Shot didn't look great and didn't really have the impact on the game that I thought he would for a top ranked kid. However to his defense, he didn't have much help on his team and Lincoln was defending strong, really aware of him and not giving him much room to operate.

Game ended in a blowout so he didn't see much action in late 3rd/4th quarter.

So Lindsey lost an entire year playing for us this year?

Does it matter? He'll declare for the draft after next year anyway. But yes, he won't have the opportunity to be a 32 yr old senior. ; )

Yeah

Here is best example. Gary Franklin played 1 semester at Cal last year before transferring to Baylor. He's a soph this year.
