Rutgers Exhibition

Amazing experience for both teams! At least 15 minutes of end-of-game scenarios and 50 minutes of game action that can’t be simulated in practice.

Judging from the stats, Alleyne and Ledlum have some serious onions. Back to back to back offensive rebounds at the end of the first OT down three. That had me fist pumping at home.

Looks like Jenkins had his pocket picked a few times in the open court. Having Dingle should help there, but we don’t have a kid on the roster under 6’3 so that is something to be aware of in the waning minutes of games. A pesky smaller guard will get lower and go for the ball.

Team shot 36.6% from the floor (30/82); 26.3% from 3 (10/38); 65.5 FT (19/29).
Alleyne with 19pts (6/17), 3-pt 4/13, 3/4 FT, 4 Fouls
Jenkins with 13pts (4/13), 3-pt (2/9), 9 assts., 46 min
Taylor with 13 pts (4/10), 9 Reb, 4 Fouls, 43 min.
Soriano with 12 pts (6/15 FG), 0/3 FT, 16 Reb, 4 Fouls.
Ledlum 11pt (3/10), 10 Reb., 4 fouls

He missed four or five easy ones. Wasn't going up strong. Plus, he missed two FTs in the final minute of regulation.

He's so good at rebounding, that admittedly, I've almost come to expect big board games from him.
I think it’s taken for granted some that there aren’t many bigs capable of getting double figure points on a consistent basis (warts and all) and even fewer who can grab 10+ rebs routinely.

There’s gonna be plenty of better offensive bigs on opposing teams this year.

Some brief observations. Disappointed with the crowd of about 2/3 full. Jenkins is a good pg but, as someone else observed, may have difficulties with a pesky defender ala posh. Soriano and Ludlum had some trouble finishing inside but I arreibute much of that to rutgers' interior defense. Dkk why we saw so little of zuby in second half. Ball in Taylor's hands alot; expect less when dingle is back and Witcher settles in after a rough start. Lucky to win after such poor foul shooting down the stretch. Appreciate a game like this rather than against the likes of miss valley state. Hope they do a game like this every preseason.

I know this does not matter much, but assuming Dingle starts who comes off the bench.

Doesn’t seem like anyone’s been a impressed with Joel which is impressive considering he has a Double double with 16 rebounds.
Soriano clearly struggled in the first half, and was in foul trouble. When he finally got back in in the 2nd half, I thought he played good defense on the RU center, and got involved around thd basket on offense. Nice job rebounding throughout the game.
