Love this this quote by Pitino

"We’ll probably have a non-conference schedule that’s the best in St. John’s history,” Pitino said in reference to the 2024-25 non-conference slate. “It takes a year to build a schedule like that.”

Not enough money in it unless TV paid to make up ticket rev, but imagine if Pitino got a big-time match up at Rucker Park...
Weather would be problem too. Same for USS Inrepid. I think there is still an Armed Forces Classic that plays on other carriers but in warmer weather sites.

I love the idea of doing an exhibition for charity at Rucker

I think Carnessecca is getting phased out for any major and conference games. Between Ashe (!), MSG, UBS and Barclays, we should be leveraging all of those places to be New York’s team. Going to campus is a hellish commute for a large segment of the fan base, and *arguably just as important* for the dormant fans we’ve been wanting to attract.

Yankees Stadium would be fantastic. I really love the idea of hitting four of the five boroughs (sorry Staten Island), but not sure how to do a baseball stadium without a roof.

I’ll also say, remember that UCLA/USC will be in the Big Ten next year. Wouldn’t be surprised if Fox wants us in LA for one of those.

The Intrepid (which is shorter length wise than the USS Jimmy Carter attack submarine) might be would be too small or cramped and then there is the matter of the added expense of removing the planes that are exhibits on the deck. The air wings have already flown off the carriers they have been using for the Armed Forces Classic before they arrive in port.

Ledlum has a legit chance to be the second or third leading scorer and I expect him to easily be our second leading rebounder, but we also have to remember that he’s going to look great in any intrasquad scrimmages because there is nobody to guard him.

We have 3 big men, and Joel and Zuby have to guard each other. So he going to go up against Drissa a lot — which isn’t a fair matchup — or a SF playing up.

Ayo the best matchup for him defensively.

On flip side of what you said, because of only 3 bigs he also spends quite a bit of time guarding the bigger centers, and he showed real well there maintaining his ground and using his strength.

Love the Arthur Ashe Stadium idea! That's an amazing venue and scheduling Duke there is genius. Can't wait!

This is really thinking outside the box. Like the NHL playing hockey at Fenway, Wrigley and Yankee Stadiums. The only hockey game that didn't work out was the Vegas Golden Knights playing a game on Lake Tahoe. Great idea, but the ice got too soft .
