Robbins in Today's Post: SJU Tarnishing its Brand

If St. John's was developing a reputation for reprehensible behavior on and off the court, the brand would be tarnished. An isolated on court brawl for a team that has gone through a lot of the last few weeks is not commendable, but it happens. In baseball, a team in a tailspin will often start a fracas on the field to try to ignite a team. In hockey, it's still acceptable for two players to square off and pound each other. The referees stand idly by for 20 or 30 seconds before jumping in.

It's sports, it happens. Maybe if something outrageous happened, like Kermit Washington fracturing Rudy Tomjoanvich's skull many years ago, or Ron Artest going into the stands in Detroit. Robbins is a boob, period.

Give me a break. Sure we do not want to throw punches but I saw pride coming thru our guys. The msame pride I saw in Postell and that team.

PS we just need some shooters.

Why didnt Lenn publish any of our emails when we were all emailing complaining when Norm was coach ( at least one of the ones without curses ) ?

It's pretty obvious that Norm treated Lenny to dinner, while Lavin never did. And Lenny has had an axe to grind ever since.

Alan probably has access to his 'personal' email

Good research Mr. Maher! It appears that this guy Alan is also a pro-Communist Chinese sympathizer and an anti-Catholic!

Serial letter writers to publications are among the freakiest people you could ever meet.

Usually live in their mom's basement.

Who the hell is Alan Hirsch?

I love how he's quoted multiple times like he's some type of voice of reason with a solution lol

What kind of writer quotes a random email in their article? I mean if thats the case take multiple emails and show a variety of opinions. Didn't realize Alan Hirsch was the end all be all. Just weird. A weird weird article.

I think Mr Hirsch is a graduate of Notre Dame lol

I thought this response from Robbins might be of interest to some readers. I emailed Robbins after reading his degrading article never thinking he would respond. Apparently he doesn't read carefully but I thought his response shows he might realize he is perceived as biased let alone knows he should not have even written the article. the the way he did.

Mr Robbins

IF YOU READ MY EMAIL CORRECTLY I AM STATING THAT YOU ARE NOT BIASED IN MY VIEW AND WANT ST JOHNS TO SUCCEED . MANY OTHER ST JOHNS FANS I HAVE TALKED TO FEEL YOU ARE BIASED IS WHAT I SAID.

> I respect you as a writer but to tarnish St Johns as you have done by referencing Mr Hirsh (without establishing his credentials) is not appropriate nor is his comment about being in the bottom tier of "legitimate" schools. Unlike other St. Johns fans who clearly feel you are biased against St Johns I disagree and feel you as well as the diehards want success to come back to their basketball program. I would hope as a writer you can accept corrective criticism as well as plaudits from your readers.
