Robbins in Today's Post: SJU Tarnishing its Brand

I don't get it. St. John's is already back to respectability. To say the school and team's reputation is near the bottom is flat out wrong. There was a little pushing and shoving and a punch thrown. Big deal! It was not a smart thing to do but It happens. And it takes two. Trash talking in the Georgetown game goes both ways and the ND player isn't blameless either. Geez, 4 weeks ago we were all talking about the real possibility of 18 or 19 wins and the team possibly making the NCAA tournament.

What kind of writer quotes a random email in their article? I mean if thats the case take multiple emails and show a variety of opinions. Didn't realize Alan Hirsch was the end all be all. Just weird. A weird weird article.
 
ironic,N.D. I suppose they are angels. Nothing bad said About them. It takes two to tango.Not excuse for us but report the reasons also.I repeat no excuse but justice for all.

That's what makes this column so funny. It's about the average length of a lawmanfan post (sans the good points) and reads like something we would ridicule for posting here. Complete with a quote from a guy who is an absolute unknown among the fans. I guess its Lenny being Lenny.

I saw it too, but its way off screen and only when they slow it down and freeze that frame you can actually see it.

was georgetown's "brand" compromised when they got into the brawl in China?!?!?!?!?

I also would LOVE to see the formula how st johns is calculated in the bottom fifth of division I programs. "Facts" like that should get a reporter fired.
 
i wonder if robbins feels the same way about these other "brands" that should be down "in the bottom fifth" of universities based on alan hirsch's apparent expert opinion.....

georgetown - brawl in china
north carolina - academic fraud
syracuse - too many things to mention
uconn - ineligible for postseason due to poor academic performance

and for certain people who love to compare us to villanova....how about this clipping from an article posted last june about their program?

Villanova has a recent history of disciplinary problems on the team. Taylor King transferred after the 2009-10 season after he violated a team rule. The following season, freshman JayVaughn Pinkston was involved in a physical altercation at a fraternity party. Jay Wright suspended him for the entire season. These problems have led some to question whether Wright has any control over his players. The last thing the program needs is more disciplinary trouble.

I'm not happy with what happened on Tuesday night and was much more upset with the fight than with the loss but I wish people would stop acting like bad things only happen at st. john's and nowhere else....

The ND player clearly used his right arm to shove at Pointer initially while trash talking so the ND player was just as irresponsible in the incident. Pointer going psycho in response was inexcusable. He should not have been in the game with under 2 minutes to play and that was on the absent-minded Lavin.
The "Keady" influence has been totally absent this year.

I still say part of the blame is with Brey also , not emptying his bench earlier up 30 and hoisting 3's with 2 minutes left. Pointer should have been pulled after the flagrant-1 , but as the opposing coach you have to feel the heat escalating also.

Lenn Robbins is a tool, I have been posting that for years-- why anyone reads his garbage is beyond me.
 
Len Robbins should be writing about Kim Kardashian. People at STJ can't stand him.
He quotes Alan Hirsch. Who is Alan Hirsch. He is a bad writer. Editor who approves his crap is even worse.
