What a great interview. On the last point, we have several studs in our backyard who are High School seniors so let’s get on it.
Good interview. Interesting points to me were:
— would only go to Euro league but not nba or another college job (did get a couple calls last year, but loves MSG too much)
— doesn’t know what he’d do if he retires
— kelvin has made him rethink recruiting freshmen
-- thinks we can get to 12-13 regular season games at MSG annually, but would still need to play the cupcakes (my phrase) at Carnesseca
He does seem pretty set on those 3 paying significant time together.Other interesting points:
-He specifically called Mitchell "a power forward" and Hopkins a wing.
-Said Prey has made the biggest jump and stated he backup the 5 () and the 4.
-Continues to ignore Ayo's potential redshirt and calls him a senior (I wonder if this is a defensive strategy to keep teams away)
-Seems to really like Sellers
- I liked hearing him relaying that Richard asked him "Dad why would you ever retire?" as well as Pitino's response that it keeps him young and he would be miserable retired.
- Pitino continues to give off the impression that he finds recruiting with the NIL exponentially easier than the old days of having to travel half the year and win over families of high school kids. Now it's a dollar amount combined with his name, New York, and MSG.
Which is what I tried to tell Marillac but you know him he’s still trying to devise a plan that would have Dylan Darling at power forward. He does seem pretty set on those 3 paying significant time together.
