Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

For Rick, I would like to see a turn around like Kim Mulkey accomplished for the Women's team at LSU. Took over 2 years ago and has a record of 60-8, including winning the Women's national championship today. The current team includes 9 new players to LSU. She is a HOF coach and has 4 National championships. Dreams Can Come True!!

Her players show real class (Not!)

I'd like to see it without the crazy.

Here is where I am on Rick. Fabulous coach, deserves lots of respect and I will trust his judgment.

Having said that, we all have and should have opinions and this constant in Rick we trust refrain when anyone raises a question will get old fast.

Very true, NCJ. At the end of the day--or sometimes at the Half, fans scream and rant, lol--all that matters are the wins.
I think Nova fans got on Jay Wright early into his fabulous tenure there.
Chris Mullin talked the talk but didn't do the walk, and it went sour in a hurry.
Rick Pitino has talked the talk and walked the walk about everywhere he's been HC.
Nothing's a given and progress isn't necessarily fast or at an even gait but, as you've said, Rick deserves the respect and the trust at this point.
It'll also be fascinating to see what he does when he suffers a recruiting setback and what his Plans B & C look like...and the results, always the results.
But, gotta say, I am more confident than I've been in 30 years about the future of Johnny Hoops.

Agree 1,000 % NCJ.

Completely fair. But this is a guy who has never won less than 60 percent of his games anywhere he’s been. It’s a little odd to question that when we haven’t seen a coach do that since Louie.

Flip it around.

Take away Rick's resume and just look at the personnel moves at face value.

Any other coach and this board would be going nuts.

Why would you do that though? We don’t have any other coach. We have Rick Pitino, the Hall of Fame coach. We have the coach that has taken every team he has ever had to the tournament by the 2nd year. One of two coaches that has taken 3 different teams to the Final Four. And all this was done before the current transfer system. Trust the process.

I share the trepidation about Johnny Hoops.
We have been preconditioned to expect the worst, i e.., 23 consecutive years of extreme disappointment and worse.
It may not be. It may be one more stinker and we may be cursed for another generation, or worse.
But, at this point, I'll take the other side of the bet.
As Monte has said: "...the hoop gods owe us."
I'm going with that sentiment, at least through the remaining HS recruiting process and tracking transfer portal results.
"We'll be fine...", as one astute poster said earlier.
I, for one, cannot wait for the Tip-off of the 2023 - 24 Season.
I sense 'relevance' on the rise for Johnny Hoops...finally.
My observation is that Billionaires (Mike Repole) rarely lose their bets.
I'll go with that.

Due to the early hour of the day I forgot to edit the post = my excuse for typos
Have we ever had this much excitement in the past two decades? Nope
Now in addition to recruits, let’s get a better nickname and mascot - imo
every little improved aspect of our program helps!
Please a better nickname and mascot!!!! Please! Please! Please!

How about the Red Hot Chili Peppers! We can have Flea on the court playing his guitar naked as a mascot.

Agree, SS&G. It's never been this 'high' this 'century'.
And yup, we need a better nickname.
What the heck is a 'Red Storm' anyway?!? Lol.
My favorite is 'Red Raiders' but TX Tech's got that one, although a number of colleges have the same / similar nicknames.
Just surfing here:
Red Marauders,
Raiders,
Vikings,
Padres,
Vinnies (Vincentians),
New Yorkers.
I'll stop.
