Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Also just an FYI I'm friends with the owners of Novita so lmk if you want me to help setting up the event.
Thx I’ll definitely let you know . It’s a Wednesday so I think we should be fine I’m friends with Kaice the bartender I’ll double check tomorrow and let you know. Last time we stayed in the back area where the high tops are

Yup. Guards that cant shoot? Sorry, there is no room for players like that on this roster anymore. No need to even bring up the character concerns.

I still don't see any way Posh isn't back. He's the heart and soul of the team. If anything, the terrible culture within the program dragged him down. He shot 30% from 3 as a freshman. Pitino is the perfect coach to get the best out of him and reinstall his confidence. That being said, it's quite possible if Posh does agree to come back, he will have a more limited role next year, in my opinion. Probably will have to take a decent cut in minutes.

Ok cool lmk if you need PM me brother, I went to high school with the owners and I'm actually in the Liquor business and they buy booze from my company.

Many of my friends and I continued to believe for a long time that we were still a sleeping giant but admittedly over the last decade or so we all began to question that but still had a glimmer of hope. Well the phrase sleeping giant fits our program once again and the giant has awoken!

Again, I dont get the coddling of Posh by this fanbase. Over the last 2 years hes gotten worse by the game, he cant shoot at all, hes been benched, suspended, he doesnt even look or listen to his coach during timeouts. Posh was no leader of this team. Joel was given captaincy later in this season.

And to top it all off, he was not given an endorsement by people connected to the basketball program to Pitino.

St Johns fans idea of Posh is totally distorted to the reality of Posh.

You've made your point numerous times over numerous threads on this topic. We can agree to disagree. There is a reason Posh was pre-season all Big East coming into this season. And we all admit it was disappointing. But everyone knows he was negatively impacted by playing alongside Curbelo. In fact at the end of the season when Curbelo was out was when he played his best ball. On top of that, he could have easily transferred before last year for higher NIL but decided to stick with St John's. The effort was always there. You seem pretty tone deaf in your understanding of why St John's fans are attached to this kid.

MR you seem to be trying to get a rise out of the members here. You made your point. You don’t like Posh. Move on and stop trolling.

Sometimes you guys just fail to realize that we are all emotional human beings who put ourselves through 30+ St. John's basketball games a year.

This shit hurts all of us but we still do it cause we love the team.

3 YEARS. Posh Alexander was a rookie of the year for this team, he was a defensive player of the year for this team. The kid is a bulldog. And I'm still fuzzy on whether he was a good dude off the court, details seem to be leaking more and more on that, but nevertheless...

The guy competed. He's a tough fucking player. It doesn't show up in the stats that well ADMITTEDLY, but I think we can all agree we have engrained in us 3 years of basketball games where this guy competed and brought a lot of toughness and intangibles to the game.

We (maybe it's just me, so maybe I) can't just let that go so easily. That's a lot of hours of basketball where I saw this guy wreak havoc on opposing guards, and while again ADMITTEDLY very spotty offensive performances, always attacked the rim as hard and unrelenting as possible. He willed himself to several good offensive performances in our uniform.

He can't shoot, we get it. But I trust my eyes enough to say this guy can help us win BIG GAMES even if he isn't the top guard on the team. He would help. You can't convince me otherwise.

I myself posted earlier that we should trust pitino and let go of past players and our emotional ties to them. But this is a tough one for me. I want him to come back pretty bad

Posh was an important recruit for us. He was terrific as a freshman, slightly less so as a soph, and a big disappointment this season. Granted there were some extenuating circumstances, but the fact is he didn't play well. I hope he stays, because he would benefit from playing for Pitino. But that could be said of everyone on the roster. Pitino will make his choices, and hopefully those players that end up hitting the portal will find great landing spots. I'll be rooting hard for them.
