You have to remember though back then there was not a transfer portal like there is today. It took a Coach longer to turn a team around cause they had to rely only on recruiting. With the transfer portal and not having to sit out a year Pitino will get good players in here right away.

-- Thinks he can rebuild program in months, not years.
-- Was never leaving the area.
-- Wants to get program to what it once was under Louie Carnesecca
-- Will consider retaining Van Macon
-- Made his decision last night after meeting with school higher-ups
-- Said biggest key for St. John's is changing the culture.
